Great essay!

I always thought it would have been cute if Francesca and Turnbull's relationship had developed a bit more, as I think they would have suited each other in a lot of ways (although even Francesca occasionally gets frustrated with Fraser's odd habits, so one assumes she'd also occasionally be flustered by Turnbull.)

Another interesting angle to explore might be Turnbull's name and whether it indicates anything about him as a character, as Meg Thatcher's seems to.

Yeah, I'm a complete slashwhore, but yeah, I always wondered why nothing came of Turnbull and Frannie's date. It wasn't until I really looked at it while I was writing this that I thought "...hang on a minute." Of course, if you want to ship the pair, you can always put it down to him being shy ^_~

That's an interesting idea. *files it away for later addition to the essay*

Thank you for reading and for the feedback ^_^

Thank you kindly for that information. I noticed Tunbull the very day he showed up at the consulate. His quirky ways were quite refreshing against the seriousness of consulate politics. If everybody is annoyed by Fraser's boy scout ways, then what will come of Turnbull with his indiosyncratic tendancies?

If anything, Turbull is an extremely entertaining character to say the least.

Oh wow! I can't believe you read all of the essay! Turnbull's my favourite muse. Due South is a really great show if you ever get the chance to watch it ^_^

Here's a couple of little Turnbull clips, just because I want to share the love:

He's very special, he can be so naive and innocent, yet deep and knowing all at the same time.

Do you know which eps you're watching? Diefenbaker is great, he makes me want a pet husky!

I just stumbled here by way of Wikipedia and boy, am I happy I did! I do so love supporting characters and Turnbull is one of the more interesting. You managed to cram everything good and important about him into one place and I'm in complete awe!

I shall keep this forever, so I have somewhere to send the oafs who think supporting characters have no worth.

TURNBULL FOREVER!

Thank you! I'm so thrilled to see that people are still reading this! <3

Is there a link to here on wiki or something? I'm curious now XD

I have a very soft spot for supporting characters, especially ones that are well rounded and have lots of background to work with. They're so easily overlooked.
