Ooooh, nice. I'm getting ready to start listening to the later Eight audios in the next couple weeks and this really piques my interest.

You need to fix the coding on the image of C'rizz though.

C'rizz tends to be under appreciated. Hopefully you like him.

Thanks for letting me know about the picture. It's fixed now.

he talks to the voices in his head and agrees that he may have to one day save the Doctor and Charley.

Even cooler because of what C'rizz really means by "saving". :D

...oh god, the paralells with Stark (Farscape) are immense. I need to get to know this character.

C'rizz sounds like he needs championing; loves_them_all is having a companion lovefest - you pick a day and then post on that day with essays, picspan, icons, vids, fics, whatever, celebrating your chosen companion - and there's lots of dates left if you wanted to pick one for C'rizz.

Actually I took Erimem.

But yes, C'rizz is fantastic and lovely and needs more fans. You should totally go and listen to some of his audios. Big Finish is offering the lovely download service nowadays.

Yes, that's a great thing about C'rizz, that he is so alien. Not enough companions are.

I haven't listened to all of his audios yet and now I'm more interested in getting to them.

Big Finish really played up the fact that he was an alien. He is always great fun to listen to.

Memory Lane is a good one to listen to for C'rizz. It's not the best story ever, but C'rizz is really fantastic in it.

Just found this and I'm happy to see C'rizz getting some attention! Excellent. I agree that one of the great things about him is that he's *so* alien. He's so far from a "typical" companion, and yet he is completely a companion.

I always thought that C'rizz was very conscious of that chameleon aspect of his personality (as well as his physiology) and that was a big part of why he loved and wanted to travel with the Doctor and Charley -- because they were good, being around them could make him a better person.

He's so complex. He's a character it took some courage to write, I think.

I was a tad confused to get a comment on this after so much time, but happy too. Thanks.

He's so far from a "typical" companion, and yet he is completely a companion.

That's him completely and utterly.

because they were good, being around them could make him a better person.

I agree completely. Being with Charley and the Doctor, but I think Charley in particular, made him a better person in every way. Without them he probably would have gone back to the Church and been not so very lovable. I'm betting it's at least part of the reason he decided to go with them.

I think he's a character that could only happen in the expanded universe. They're allowed to play a bit more with ideas and C'rizz just shows why that's so wonderful.

Thank you for commenting and reading.

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. This community was linked on halfamoon, which prompted me to browse. Sometimes I feel weird about commenting on old posts, but I was so excited to find discussion of expanded universe characters and Big Finish in general. :)

I think you're right about the expanded universe -- it was brilliant because it gave them license to do some really original things, including the characters they created.
