[Remember that girl living at 837 Hastings Boulevard who was smiling vacantly for a while? Well, Karina has snapped out of her droning in a rather abrupt fashion: right as her droned self was cooking lunch for the family. As you can tell, she's pretty surprised by this development.]

Wha--

[Cooking has been summarily abandoned, in favor of her ( Read more... )

I was just curious! I'm a fan of them, to be honest, but that's all there is to it.

Oh, me too!! I liked to watch that kinda thing on the television, back home. But here it's not really the same...

That's true. For one thing, there's barely any crime around for them to foil.

A costume, you say? Look no further!

It's no problem at all. If you'd like, we can get started right away. I'll need to measure you first, of course.

[Phone]

I could put a costume on you...I wonder how long it would last?

[She really doesn't even stop to think that this wouldn't make much sense to anyone else.]

As long as it's durable enough and it isn't skimpy, I'll be fine with it.

...hypothetically.

Well like I said I dunno if it will last very long without me around.

Maybe I could use it to help you design one, though?

I'll keep that in mind.

Costume? Are we talking newbie, experienced? Tech theme? Magical? There are a lot of different superhero costumes.

Something that would be durable, isn't skimpy and is perfect for someone with experience.

There are a couple of tailors in town, but I've found that for durable you probably need someone in the mad science department to do something with armor in it. I'm training a new sidekick that's pretty good at it. Just ask around for Agatha. She has all that mad science whatsit.

[Action]

[As Kashihara, wearing his pinstripe black suit and red scarf, steps down the stairs, he sees Karina opening her "gift". The picture freezing over forces a smile from him. It appears that this woman, his "wife", had more surprises than he gave credit for. It appears he had a few gifts waiting for him just beneath the tree as well. Approaching his assigned wife, he gives her a simple, but fond greeting.]

Merry Christmas.

Thanks. [She sets the picture down, then unwraps the next box to find her Liquid Freezing Guns.

She smiles as she picks them up.]

[Having the power to freeze was one thing, but as Kashihara observes her unwrapping the guns, he's starting to get an idea of what she might have been in her previous life. She didn't come off to him as the type who would be involved in a life of crime. There is a small chance that the guns may have been for self-defense at the same time... or they might have been used for the defense of others. Regardless, he walks over and sits just beneath the tree.]

Ironic that you would be given powers related to freezing after how this town nearly froze over. Father Christmas has quite the sense of humor.

[He reaches over to his own box now.]

Yeah. I've missed it, though.

[She sighs, then examines the guns, as if to check and see if anything's happened to them on the way here.]
