[Urgh. What time is it now? Her mother would probably be yelling at her to hurry up and get to school, but strangely, she can't hear her voice. Whatever, she's still half-asleep, so she takes a few moments to sit up, savoring her soft, soft bed ( Read more... )

dammit mayfield, what is this insanity, snowball faito!, in which there is snow, at least she's not in a skimpy costume, what is being a housewife

[Whoa, that is one cool fort. Quinn doesn't see her inside of it amassing ammo, and approaches to check it out. He's an easy target, standing at about 6'8" tall.]

[Ah, Quinn, you are the perfect target. She peeks out from her fort, sees him approaching, and quickly launches a flurry of snowballs. Hope he can dodge.]

[Nope. He's hit with a sudden barrage, and yelps slightly in surprise before laughing and then diving behind the nearest tree.]

Holy crap!

Hey, come out!

[She has snowballs and his name is written all over them.

...okay, she doesn't know his name, but still.]

[What might have looked like simple hair decorations from the back twitch as Mika turns, her pointed ears flicking forward as attentively as a canine's as she focuses on Karina's face. Her nose and tail twitch, as Mika is scenting the other woman and thinking over all the other faces and smells she's run across in her stay. When she talks it's overly loud, as if she can't actually hear what she's saying.]

You're definitely new here. Hold on.

[She pulls a pad of paper out of a bag she's carrying, and offers it to the Blue Rose along with a pen.]

Thanks to one of the local assholes I'm currently deaf, so if you've got a question you'll need to write it down. But I take it you need someone to explain the whole situation to you, right?

Ah, thanks.

[She takes the pad and the pen, scribbling down her response: 'I've been told enough that I know this isn't the best place to wake up in, but I still need to know more.']

They told you we're all basically science and sociology experiments? We've got everything from innocent bystanders to heroes to full on villains that make Hitler look like a snobby substitute teacher. Top it all off if we don't behave the way they want us to they turn us into drones. I'm sure you've met the poor folks that are unfortunate enough to be called the locals, right?

[Her ears twitch as she studies the rows of houses.]

I've begun to think they weren't so different from us, once. Unfortunately they're brainwashed a little harder than the rest of us usually are.

That's...

[She lets out a breath, looks down at her pad and pen, then starts writing out another question. 'You mean that if one of us steps one inch out of line, we're turned into drones? How long is it, usually?']

[Kotetsu is casually walking around the park, checking up on the snowball fight. He sees Karina's fort and decides to check it out since it's one of the best ones around, not remembering the rules of snowball fights and that he's probably going to get pelted.]

[Another unsuspecting target? Hell. Yes. She peeks out of the fort for a moment then does an abrupt double-take. She knows that face. For a moment, she's almost tempted to spare him.

...but you know what, it's a snowball fight. So there goes the snowball, aiming straight for his face!]

[Of course he forgets to duck and gets a snowball to the face. But he realizes that it's Karina behind the fort and trudges through the snow. He'll work on getting a snowball stash together in a minute.]

Blue Rose!

Tiger!

[Like he could ever penetrate her snow fort. But anyway there's a bit of a blush going on here, before she shakes it off and prepares another snowball for throwing.]

[Kashihara, meanwhile, has been making breakfast. As he was waking up, he noticed that his drone!wife has changed, perhaps meaning that he has a new housemate. Now that the chef of the family, traditionally the wife, is gone, it might be up to him to cook for the family.

He didn't mind cooking either, not that he could make dishes that are overly complicated. That's why today, he's preparing fried rice to welcome his new wife into the family. Just as he's finished and begins dividing up the rice between plates, he hears someone running down the stairs.

Perhaps that's her. Kashihara takes the dishes over to the table and as soon as he sees her, he says...]

Good morning.

Who are you?

[She sounds...rather panicked. And also rather mad, because she thinks he kidnapped her. Somehow.]

You think you're kidnapped, don't you? Relax, so was I. The powers that be have called us to this world and aren't planning on letting us go.

[He places the rice plates on the table and sits down.]

Are you hungry?

[Barnaby was just going out to do a little shopping seeing as Christmas was on the way when, low and behold, he spots a familiar face. One he was almost positive he hadn't seen here before. He practically stopped dead in his tracks.]

Blue Rose.

[Oh dear, this will be fun.]

What do you already know? I wouldn't want to waste your time by repeating something you've already heard.

don't worry!! idolofice December 12 2011, 12:01:10 UTC
[She knew those curls were familiar. But nooo, she just had to poke him on the shoulder.

But she's the Super Idol, Blue Rose! She's the Hero that everyone's betting on for next Queen of Heroes! Like hell is she going to let her rival troll on her, not when she outranks him by a mile.]

Well, I know that death isn't permanent here. I know that the people who say you've been here all your life are called drones and that if you aren't careful, you could turn into one. I know that things happen more than once and that I should be on guard for those. I know that Mayfield is not the best place to wake up in.

[And that's only off the top of her head.]

Okay >< bunnyblitz December 12 2011, 18:43:47 UTC
[Why can't this place send him people he actually doesn't mind terribly? Not that Blue Rose was a bad person, per say. And she wasn't an idiot, at least she had that much. Unlike someone else *coughkeithcough*. Her attitude, however, left much to be desired.]

It isn't. It's dangerous. Your powers don't work unless the mail man decides to give them back. The milk is bad for you, don't drink it. Our authority figures censor any and all information we may receive via public means. Be wary.

[He sighs.]

Perhaps I should call you by your name while we are here. We aren't super heroes to these people.

I guess that explains why I couldn't freeze anything when I woke up. For a moment I thought it was a NEXT stalker.

[...well, it's possible.]

...that's right. [She...wouldn't really mind if it was, say, Kotetsu calling her by her first name, but instead it's his partner. And she does mind, which is why there's a few moments before she says anything else, and it's a rather begrudging reply.]

Fine.
