Ficlet lite
This snippet of conversation between Liam and Amanda has been knocking around my computer for ages now, and I don't know what to do with it, so I'm just posting it as is:
Conversation with Liam
“He’s a nice lad, that Nick of yours.”
“He’s not my Nick. But yes, he is nice,” Amanda replied with a smile.
“You know he’s one of us, right?” Liam asked. Amanda looked at him, eyebrow raised. “Of course you do. Will you train him?”
“Well, hopefully it will never come to that,” Amanda answered, picking up a hymnal and opening to a random page. It was Psalm 23, and she closed it again quickly.
“Amanda, please. In his line of work, it’s a wonder he isn’t already. If Meyers hadn’t been there when he got shot…”
“Yes, well he was there. And Nick can take care of himself.”
“Well, one day that boy’s luck will run out.”
