So, I have a very pointy left knee. This very pointy left knee has caused a hole to appear in the left leg of every pair of my jeans. So, undaunted, I set off to buy some new ones

OMG! i went through this exact same ordeal/rant a few months ago when i went looking for a new pair, they really just don't exist! EVERYTHING has spandex, most of them aren't even real denim at all anymore. try looking somewhere grossly cheap, like wal-mart, sometimes they carry all cotton ones...i guess they're cheaper to make...also, men's jeans are still made without spandex, so try finding a pair of those that works...good luck! hmm...i also found a fairly decent pair at TJ MAXX, because they sell the fancier labels at good sale prices if you catch them on a good day.

good luck, this is one of the most bothersome issues in my life as well! (can't wait to see you at dcon!)

oo, also, try psycho sisters, perhaps they have something? and for the future, when you get a new pair, get some of those iron on patches and apply it to the inside of the knee to reinforce it so they will last longer.

Yeah, I'll try the consignment stores too, that's a good idea. I found a pair at banana republic for insanely much, but the denim just feels sooo thin, I know they'll be torn in a month.

oh! i forgot to tell you, i actually went to a nice department store in search of real denim jeans, sans spandex, and the saleswoman looked at me completely straight-faced and said, "oh, we don't sell those here, maybe you should try the internet?" ........*sigh*

I know how you feel! In my town it seems the only jeans being sold are these horrible blue designer things made for girls who are a size 2.
