I had to stop my house from burning down at the beginning of it, so when I came back and the music was much faster, I was rather confused, but once I got my wits about me, I liked it. *applaudes*

as usual, your voice sounds really good, and the vocal is really pretty. starting out slow and picking up works pretty well - except it seems to me, especially in the beginning of the part where the beats come in, that it sort of overpowers the vocals. over the last couple of days i've been cleaning my room and left itunes on, and when i was listening to it i could only tell that you were singing - not the lyrics or even WHAT you were singing - because the background sounds were so dominant. i just listened to it again to leave feedback, and i remember how the beginning and end go [tune and lyrics], but all i remember of the middle is the beats. they certainly have their place, but i felt something about them was overpowering. the beginning and end with piano and horn are a good mix of vocal and instrumental, the piano in particular is really pretty [but that's just personal preference, i think.]

Since I am a mostly-deaf person I cannot comment on nuances, and I had a hard time hearing your voice on our limited equipment. :(

HOWEVER. I hate "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". But I like you so I listened through the first verse and then said to Poindexter, "I love her voice but I hate this song." Then it picked up and turned into a completely different song AND I TOTALLY DUG IT!! IT WAS SO FUN! So unexpected. Poindexter made devil horns and banged his head a bit and we also did some SNL techno head tilting.

Normally I hate it when people try to do weird shit to classic familiar songs -- making the rhythm uneven and interjecting dramatic pauses is NOT ALL THAT CREATIVE AND UNIQUE, MMKAY -- but this was really cool, it was like a whole 'nother song. You should do a whole album.

Now if I can present a nitpicky subjective opinion: I also liked how you did it in a classic style first and then changed gears. I'm not sure if I liked the wind-down back to classical, though -- I would've preferred it to go out with a bang.

You should do a whole album.

Grooooooan ... I see that that's exactly what you're doing. I'm checking out the other songs now. :)

you have some recording problems near the beginning and end of the track as well as when you switch to the techno. (though I'm sure that you've already noticed this)

BTW, my roommate, Kelly, wandered over from the other side of the apartment to tell you that you have a nice voice.

"Recording problems"? Such as.. ? The record scratch sound is intentional, if that's what you were referring to.

I haven't given any feedback in a long while, but I think a response to this one is exceptionally well-deserved, so I'll speak out.

For starters, the development of the music and rhythm reminded me of the opera number from The Fifth Element. I like that!

Overall I find it creative, fun, and true to the original. You still retain the spirit of the song (a great feat for any remix), and obviously put a lot of heart into it since you have such a great product as a result. =)
