Please help!

I know I don't have much of a flist out there, and that's my fault. But this time I need some help!

I'm going to see the rock band Nightwish at a meet and greet at the Finnish Embassy in DC. My question: what do I wear? Semi-formal? Casual? Cute?

I can't say I know a lot about the band, but they seem pretty eclectic, wardrobe-wise. Do you have a favorite outfit? One that you would wear for meeting someone informally for the first time (a potential friend rather than a potential employer). I think that outfit would be a good choice.

They are a rock band, which says casual. Since it's at an embassy, dress it up a little bit. Wear a skirt instead of jeans.

See, that's what I was thinking. I wasn't sure if I should do the whole skirt thing or go for really nice pants.

It might not matter anyway, because their lead singer is very sick right now. But thank you so much for replying! It was very kind of you to do so.
