As I was walking across 33rd street, or maybe it was up 6th ave, I saw a crab on the sidewalk.

I wish I could have taken a picture of it, but it was so dark that the picture wouldn't have come out decent. I was so confused - like - what happened to this crab that he found his way in the middle of the city? He was definitely dead - I kicked him

Holy crap! That is so crazy! I would have been totally freaked out to see a crab on the street. I would probably have thought it was a huge insect at first.
