- "Sound of a strap"? I don't fully get that, yet. Also interesting drawing of a glass next to the note... hmmm...
Sound of a strap triggered the change into Sam. I think that, as I said before, he is trying to gather some information about his personalities.

If the sound of a strap triggered his change into someone violent, strong and able to defend himself, I think it means that Ben was maybe abused as a child. Being not strong enough to deal with it, he created someone who can, and someone who remembers it for him so that Ben can forget. I think that he was speaking from the experience when he said to Simone that "If you can't find another way to remember, it's gonna find another way to come out".

I can't decide whether I want to cure my bad mood by watching this, or if I should wait for tomorrow to watch it to enjoy it like it should be enjoyed.

My advice: Watch it today AND tomorrow. ;)

First off *HUUUUUGE HUG!*

Hope you're better.

And well, it's not a happy ep, d'oh. So maybe wait. Or do what Tina suggested ;)

I actually guessed that it was the girl who did it right from the start... still I liked this case :)

The Ben and Ella scenes was the highlight of the episode for me. I loved it!

Yes! I love how Sam gets what he wants and I love how as soon as he comes out he just does it, it doesn't even take him a second to think about it. Like he's always inside him, plotting and thinking...

I thought Sound of a strap was something he figured out triggered him (actually, it should be easy for him to figure out what triggers him right, all he has to do is remember the last thing he remembers and that's probably the trigger, right?)

and great observation on the t-shirt!

Thank you for another wonderful review! :D

And then I so dig the mix of case and personal stuff.
YES. It's hard to believe how much they manage to fit into one episode. I only missed the therapy session this time.

My highlights match yours - surprise! ;P Ben/Ella scenes! Doc spicing up his drink! British accent! "Wanna hold my John?" Why yes Callum, I do! XD

Also, Halls seems to be the only truly grounded character.
Hall seems to be very protective of his private life. He's the only character we basically know nothing about. Or did I miss something?

I LOVE the "Sound of a Strap" note. Didn't get it until bigbadblackhole explained it. But WOW - I love how subtle this show is with clues. So Ben tries to figure out what triggers his alters's appearances. And yeah, this sounds like he might have been a victim of child abuse...I guess being abused as a child plus having your own boy kidnapped later is more than enough to push you over the edge of sanity.

Oh, and I'm starting to think they re-cut the eps? The Amy walking in on Harry and Naomi scene from the recap wasn't in this ep, same with the Naomi promo pic that was posted last night on fb. Hmm.

Oh, and I'm starting to think they re-cut the eps?
Definitely, since, according to imdb, Naomi is gonna come back in the sixth episode.

I think Ben going to Naomi will be in the next ep? One of Ella's conditions was that Ben/Harry would not see her or she would not see him, so I guess he'll go to her to make sure of that.

But the porno bit is sill missing. Man, I HATE when that happens.

In the second episode Sam appeared when the bodyguard tried to stop Amy by putting his hand on her shoulder and she shouted "get your hand off me". Maybe his father was abusing Ben's mother as well and Sam was protecting both of them?

I like your idea! Could very well be like this. Remember ep 3, what triggered pussy!Sam during the second bomb scene? It was the mention of somebody's brother. Any ideas about this?

Nooo, don't call him pussy!Sam! *sniffle* ;)

But I am blanking out, I don't recall him in the second bomb scene, only the first. Definitely need to rewatch ;)

That's what I think and also why Sam first appeared when the kid in ep 1 called Amy a bitch. That word was definitely a trigger.

Also, Harry seems to appear when Ben is rejected in a way, e.g. Ella telling him she'll feel better when he isn't around. So, rejection issues on top of everything.
