Great interview, and great to see Callum so much at ease -okay twitchy, but what can you do when you're smoke deprived? plus not much in love with the spotlights :D

And George Strombopoulos IS cool. I've watched several of his shows and they never disappoint. About time Callum was on it!

Heeee, good point! I also think the gum has replaced the water bottle of old as something to hold onto during these dreaded live interviews.
Plus I love watching him use ALL of that chair he's sitting/banging/leaning on.

And George Strombopoulos IS cool.

It really comes across as a proper interview and not a late night talk show. He should sit CKR down for an hour!

The bit about his mom was so sweet! And LOL at BruceM. Wasn't there a website with CKR's yearbook entry somewhere? Gotta check.

References to Callum and Bruce McC being pals since college can be found in most of his (maybe earlier?) bios. Callum mentions him too ("The challenging started.. the music changed... the Sex Pistols, the Ramones. I was hanging out with Bruce McCulloch at high school. People I'd grown up with were offended by my choice of a new friend and my choice of social commentary which had an anti-conservative message rage to it" (from a 1996 Vines Magazine interview)

Plus Bruce included him in one of his Kids in the Hall sketches: "....You know, now that I think about it, I think it's very important to let liquor be the wind beneath your wings. Yeah, I guess I'd have to advise drinking a lot with guys like Callum Rennie and Terry Rockio and pissing out the back of a fast-moving truck. Oh, and if a policeman goes by, try doing this under your breath: 'Pig pig oink oink bacon sandwich at 2:00'...."

Oh, thank you for these quotes. Can relate to the 1st one especially, as I don't seem to be able to manage that whole mellowing out as you grow older thing...

The second also reminds me of a qhote where Callum was described as pinning a package of Kool-Aid to his jacket and running around like that, heh.

But WHY didn't they do stuff like this BEFORE Shattered aired?

I ask myself that same question. :( Maybe they expected the show would still be airing? Technically it shouldn't have ended for another 3 weeks... *sobs*

Finally had a chance to watch the interview. It was great seeing him so relaxed (albeit twitchy).

I only wish the interview had been a lot longer so we could've heard more stories from his other projects.

Yay, glad you saw it ;) Twitchy Callum is adorable and it's nothing compared to Mike Bullard or what he was called.

And yes, the interview should have been an hour. Imagine the stories he has about DS or HCL or any other thing he's done. Maybe some day...
