Yay, you're back! You really should post more often.
I agree with you on the journalling thing - the good thing about working in an office is that at the very least I usually have an anecdote or two to write down. Otherwise, I just write the mundane things for the enjoyment of writing. It doesn't really matter what I'm writing. As for things you don;t wwant to face... I tend to save such matters for very long, emotional entries, that get very messy so I'll probably never be able to decipher them anyway. It's a release, at any rate.
Very true. I tend to find that those more emotional entries are messier handwriting wise, too, whereas the ones I have to think about are tidier, so it's definately cathartic.
And, I know! I didn't even realize that half a year had drifted by between updates until I logged on and checked the dates. It was a "Oh sweet baby Jesus." moment, lol.
