Notes: At first I was thinking of doing a 1sentence set about Jimmie/Ryan, then it grew into drabbles, then it became unrequited Jimmie/Ryan with a bit of Chad/Ryan, then they became sentences again.

Also, does anyone know the official spelling of Jimmie's name? A featurette I have says it's "Jimmy", but Wikipedia and IMDB list it as "Jimmie", hence why I'm using the later.

And last but not least...! Enjoy. :D

#01 - Walking
Ryan Evans was different than many of the boys at East High School for various reasons, but what Jimmie noticed the most about Ryan was that he didn't walk, he sauntered, hips swaying like it was nobody's business, and that Jimmie always watched.

#23 - Question
A lot of the guys poked fun at Jimmie and his hero worship of Troy, because Jimmie could admit that he kinda had a small crush on Troy, but it wasn't until he realized he couldn't stop watching Ryan Evans and his hips that he started to question if he actually liked guys or not.

#33 - Stupidity
Of course, when Donny asked if "there's... something he wants to talk about'", Jimmie just told him that he was an idiot.

#20 - Bane
Weeks passed, Jimmie was always noticing Ryan in the hallways, always watching Ryan out of the corner of his eye, and Jimmie kind of hated Ryan for it.

#22 - Quirks
Jimmie continued to hate Ryan, because whenever he was talking to Chad he would chew his lips, and Jimmie wondered how Chad could speak to him.

#04 - Wonder
Jimmie was known as the team's chatterbox, and when he was silent all throughout changing, everyone asked him what was on his mind, and he wondered aloud about how Ryan would respond if he asked him out.

#17 - Belief
Everyone went silent, and Jimmie was shocked, because no one had any problem with Ryan, and he thought everyone on the team was okay with that subject.

#21 - Quiet
Jason finally pulled him aside and told him that "Well... uh... Ryan and Chad... are sort of a... a thing" and Jimmie didn't know what to say.

#32 - Sorrow
"Zara..." Coach Bolton yelled out, bringing practice to an abrupt halt, "...that was the sixth shot you've missed today!"

#09 - War
At first Jimmie just passed the ball to anyone but Chad, passed the ball to someone else even though Chad could score, and they were just in practice so Jimmie didn't feel bad about accidentally fouling Chad.

#46 - Horizon
"I don't know what's going on between you two," Mr. Bolton said, glaring at the two of them after practice, making Jimmie feel just a bit guilty, "but the championship is coming up..." the sentence was unfinished but the warning was there, and Jimmie felt a bit more than guilty.

#29 - Jewel
The clock was counting down and time was running out and Troy passed to Jimmie, and as he shot the final basket he knew he was the jewel in everyones' eye.

#14 - Burning
Everyone was shouting their congratulations at him, but it was Ryan's thumbs up and 'Nice shot!' that made Jimmie's ears burn a bright red.

#50 - Defeat
And then Ryan walked... no, sauntered over to Chad-- Chad, who had been all but useless during the game-- and gave him a peck on the cheek, and Jimmie couldn't help but feel like he lost.

#10 - Weddings
It didn't matter to Jimmie, though, he thought as he looked around Troy's room; Ryan and Chad could fly out to wherever and have an extravagant wedding, he didn't care, he had a crush on Troy, not Ryan, Troy, not Ryan.

#40 - Solitary
At the end of the day, Jimmie's teacher always let his class out a bit early, and since he somehow got roped into being Troy's understudy he would go to the auditorium, where Ryan was as well, though with how silent the older boy was, Jimmie felt like he might as well have been alone.

#18 - Balloon
"I bet you've never worn a balloon hat," Jimmie said, to break the silence, and Ryan just looked at him and laughed, admitting that no, he hadn't, and Jimmie didn't like the silence but he did like Ryan's smile, so he continued to suggest hats Ryan hadn't tried on.

#15 - Breathing
The next day before rehearsal Jimmie entered the auditorium and saw Ryan twisting into different positions and breathing deeply, and a voice in the back of his head said that that was yoga, but Jimmie asked anyways.

#39 - Share
Jimmie and Ryan were usually in the auditorium five minutes before school ended, and it was usually ten minutes before people came in to rehearse, and in those minutes the two just talked about whatever came to mind.

#38 - Sojourn
Ryan offered to give him some acting tips, but Jimmie shook his head, saying "I'm understudying and then I'm gone" and Ryan didn't looked convinced.

#37 - Soliloquy
Jimmie asked, "So... basically you're just ranting to yourself?" and Ryan just rolled his eyes and muttered something that sounded suspiciously like sophomores.

#35 - Sarcasm
"Sarcasm is the refuge of losers," Ryan told Jimmie, in hopes that it would stop his scathing commentary, and Jimmie was silent for point five seconds before saying, "I love... that movie!" because he got over his crush on Ryan a while ago.

#47 - Valiant
Jimmie had just presented an argument on why Knights could be considered a cooler mascot (they slay dragons and shit), but Ryan said that he prefers the Wildcats, and Jimmie doesn't miss how Ryan's eyes flicker over to where Chad was standing.

#34 - Serenade
"Uh, Troy, what was that singing thingy you did to make Gabi fall for you?"

#16 - Breaking
Arthur Zara was a lawyer, so Jimmie learned over time how to lead conversations in the direction he wanted them to take, but try as he might, he couldn't find an opening to quote the stupid love song from the musicale last year.

#43 - Nuance
The one thing Jimmie noticed-- well, one of many-- was that the other seniors talked down to him-- since he was sophomore and it was a tradition to talk down to underclassmen-- but Ryan talked to him like he'd talk to anyone else, and he was more than willing to stop talking and listen, especially with Jimmie.

#11 - Birthday
They were rehearsing with the understudies, and Jimmie tried not to look at Sharpay, because the more he thought about it, the more he realized her and Ryan only truly shared a birthday and a love of the stage.

#19 - Balcony
Sharpay's hair shortened and her eyes became blue, and Jimmie sang, "All I wanna do is be with you, be with you."

#26 - Jump
In Jimmie's mind there was a wide gap between 'I like someone' and 'I really really like someone' and he really really liked Ryan but he has no idea when he made the jump.

#02 - Waltz
Jimmie had planned out what he was going to say, but his script disappeared, leaving him to improvise: "If I'm going to be Troy's understudy I'm going to need to know all his parts, but I don't know how to waltz and I know you probably want to go home now that practice is over but I was hoping you could teach me if you don't mind."

#45 - Natural
After a few measures Ryan told him that Jimmie was a natural dancer, but Jimmie is just looking up at Ryan and thinking that the natural part was how Ryan felt in his arms.

#31 - Smirk
He doesn't know which is worse, the fact that the smirk on Ryan's face means he knew that Jimmie wanted to kiss it away, or the fact that Jimmie just admitted to himself that he wanted to.

#25 - Quitting
To Jimmie, doing nothing about something was as bad as quitting, and he never quit, so he stood on his tiptoes and pressed a kiss to Ryan's mouth.

#44 - Near
It was almost painful, with Jimmie on his tip toes but still straining his neck upwards, and they were in ballroom position so Jimmie wasn't exactly holding Ryan, but they were close enough and that was all that mattered.

#41 - Nowhere
After a minute Ryan pulled back and said evenly, "I have somewhere I need to be."

#30 - Just
The next day at rehearsal, Ryan was making his way over to him, small frown on his face, and Jimmie knew what he was going to say, so he just looked down at his shoes and said, "Yea, I know we're just friends."

#36 - Sordid
Anyone could notice the tension between Ryan and Jimmie, but no one said anything; except for Donny, who, after rehearsal, demanded to know all the sordid details of his best friend's not-quite love affair.

#13 - Bias
In the past when Jimmie had a problem, Donny always knew what Jimmie really thought was the best course of action, but wouldn't admit, but Jimmie was still always a bit surprised with his best friend's perceptiveness, especially when Donny told him to get over it.

#27 - Jester
Jimmie wasn't annoyed at, nor was he jealous of Chad, so it wasn't an act of malice when he replaced Chad's street clothes with a clown suit while everyone was running through "Now or Never".

#24 - Quarrel
He wasn't expecting Chad and Ryan to get into a lover's quarrel and break up or anything like that-- though part of him wished they would-- but Jimmie definitely wasn't expecting Ryan to laugh in a happy and carefree manner when Chad went on stage.

#03 - Wishes
And then it didn't matter, because Ryan went on stage for his number and he was wearing an extremely tight pair of bright pink pants and they were torturous and Jimmie just wanted Ryan to take them off; and after following that train of thought, Jimmie's ears turned the same shade of pink.

#06 - Whimsy
Troy and Gabi were AWOL, Jimmie and Sharpay were to star in "Just Wanna Be With You", he was less ecstatic than she was, and Ryan had just told him to make the role his own; and with his cue coming up soon, that only left a few minutes to raid the wardrobe room.

#28 - Jousting
Jimmie doubted his costume choice was what Ryan had meant, and hoped that he wouldn't think of it as an act of sabotage, because it wasn't, but Ryan looked like he was trying not to laugh, and Jimmie suddenly became much more concerned about Sharpay and her heels.

#12 - Blessing
The curtains closed on the spring musical and next graduation was coming up so the the seniors would be gone and Jimmie would never have to be around Ryan again and he could just forget about the stupid thing he had for him.

#05 - Worry
Of course, the minute Jimmie entered the party he remembered that Ryan would probably be there; so he grabbed a large cup of punch and headed outsided.

#42 - Neutral
"Hey."

#08 - Whiskey and rum
Jimmie looked up from his empty cup, eyes red-rimmed, to see Ryan, who sat beside him and said, "There are two rules of cast parties... don't feed the plants and don't drink the punch."

#48 - Virtuous
After the advice, Ryan said nothing, for which Jimmie was thankful, because he was trying to think of what to say, and minutes passed and he really couldn't think of anything to say, and Ryan's silence was less heavenly and more annoying.

#07 - Waste/Wasteland
"You..." Ryan got up, looked at Jimmie for a moment and said, "You're a pretty good singer... don't let your talent go to waste."

#49 - Victory
"I won't," Jimmie promised, and Ryan smiled at him, and Jimmie was smiling too as Ryan walked away.
