OkCupid just suggested I might be interested in the post-doc I work with.   This was slightly unsettling to me, perhaps in part because I'd already mentally flagged her as someone I have to be careful around because she is very expressive in a way I respond to

You ought to figure out a way to talk to her about how you respond to emotions, something like "Hay, I just wanted to explain what happens inside my head if it is ever the case that I seem weird and standoffish when you are emoting...."

I might do that at some point. It would be easier to deal with the range of consequences when I'm closer to being done with grad school and thus closer to not working with her on a daily basis.
