Good day, inhabitants of this land!
[The feed starts a bit unsteady as Ieyasu tilts his head and stares curiously at the camera. Guess who comes from the paaaast? This loser!]I introduce myself as Tokugawa Ieyasu, a general of the Toyotomi Army. As kind and hospitable as you have been to me lately, I must make the request that I be promptly

Really? Well, please don't go off of mere hearsay. I hope that we will be able to understand each other on our own grounds.

That sounds good. I'm Takashi Kawamura.

I've been here for about a month. You're in a land where you have creatures called pokemon. Many people train them to compete with each other.
[Oh this might be an easier way to explain it.]
They're like your vassals, if you treat them right.

Yeah. You take care of him and watch over him, and when you wish he'll battle other pokemon for you. This makes you a trainer.
[Or he could be a breeder...]
Were you given a book when you arrived?

[Guess who pressed buttons on the blinky thing first without looking through what he was given?]
Might that book include a set of orders?
Reply
No, no. The book is a guide to breeding these creatures. If you don't have it, it means that you're a trainer.
[He holds up his handbook to the screen. See anything like it?]

Breeding versus training... One moment, my friend.
[Alright, this might be important. He holds up a finger before he looks through the backpack, rummages through... and he pulls out a book, but it's just the Trainer's Handbook.
After some searching, he looks back to the pokegear.]
Alas, I don't think I have that particular text, my friend. I suppose that would make me a trainer.

The goal of a trainer is to challenge the 8 great trainers of this land, called Gym Leaders. Each leader gives you a badge. Their goal is to grab all eight badges.
[He gives you a second.]
Are you up to it?
Reply
Of course! We may start right away, yes? Would you know where the first Gym Leader may be located?

Yes. It's in Violet City, which is about maybe two weeks away from where you are. It's two towns away. If you take the path, three days from now you'll reach Cherrygrove. From there it'll take about a week to make it to Violet City, if you don't get lost or sidetracked.
Anything else you need to know?

Hm... Not off the top of my head! I'm sure Mitsunari will think of anything I've forgotten.
Thank you very much for all your assistance, Kawamura-san!

[Have a smile. But before he goes.]
If you ever need help, you can just find me on the network. I might be late answering but I'll get to it, I promise.
And have a good time in Johto!

[How convenient! No ninja middle man! He nods happily.]
You're very generous, Kawamura-san! Let me know if I may ever return the favor, yes?
Reply
Don't worry about it. It's my pleasure.
[Really.]
