Life and other tragedies

So my client gives me a last minute presentation that, since we're on 'retainer' now and I should show good will, I finish at close to midnight. Wasn't too much work, but I procrastinated, and so didn't get it finished until now.

When I got home, I had no food, so ordered Chinese, and watched the last half of The Brotherhood of the Wolf, a sort ( Read more... )

O ye of little faith in the great god Lynch. verlaine September 17 2002, 18:03:53 UTC
Mulholland Drive is a great great film (and one cruelly cheated of its rightful Oscar glory). I have installed low background hum generators and hired contingents of spooky dwarves, in my time, to torment those who dare label the works of the master "pants".

I've never seen it, but then the list of good films I haven't seen is legendary.

I said it may suck, because I've not seen it, not because I expect it to. I'm quite hopeful, really.

And ruining my life at the moment is an exercise in redundancy. Speaking of which, answer my email about the flyer with your image on it, slacker!

Woo - that sounds like just my sort of thing !

Researching it a little, I was most amused by this quote on IMBD: "Why no one has previously made a period costume horror martial-arts werewolf movie before[sic] is a mystery."

Brotherhood of the Wolf etc verlaine September 18 2002, 12:59:57 UTC

Brotherhood of the Wolf is, I think, the only film I have ever got up and walked out of the cinema on. In fact, about half the audience joined me in doing so. Not that it was bad, just that the projector broke down about 10 minutes from the end, and we had a choice of hanging around to see the thrilling denouement, or getting our £8 back. No contest!

It was quite good actually, though I have to say the martial arts sequences are what I remember as being good, rather than anything about the plot. I am told that the ending was a bit of a surprising twist job, though, so maybe I really ought to watch it all the way through before making pronouncements?

Tony - I don't think I received your email. In despair at the amount of spam I was receiving I had my hotmail set to kill all unrecognised mail for a while, though I did relent after a while as I was getting lonely. Can you send it again?
