Ok, as the person who made that irreverent comment, I'll tell you that I once made a butternut squash and hazelnut risotto.
Only I used acorn squash instead of butternut, chestnuts instead of hazelnuts, and parmesan instead of gruyere cheese. (I just shudder to think of a margarita made with rum...)
About half the margharitas made in my house don't have Tequila in (so, OK, they aren't really margharitas) because lathany doesn't like the stuff.
But IMO it's not essential. The Triple-sec/Lime mix is the signature flavour of the drink really. The Tequila's just there to make you really sorry you drank so many of them when the morning after arrives (or more likely the afternoon after).
