I was thinking about starting to read/watch Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Should I do it? Oh, and manga or anime?

I am biased, of course, but I say yes. Can't speak to the anime as I haven't watched it. The manga is pretty fun, but you should know that the first 60 chapters are wildly different from the rest. For those first 60 chapters, it's essentially an extremely shounen gag comic. At chapter 60, with the Kokuyo arc, things take a sharp turn left and get very serious.

My advice is to read the first ten or twenty chapters, till you've met all the major characters (Tsuna, Reborn, Kyouko, Haru, Gokudera, Yamamoto, Ryouhei, Lambo, Dino, Hibari) and then skim the rest till 60.
