Sayonara
The closing ceremony had just ended. Salsabila and Dini walked out the hall. Behind them were Chinen and his Hey Say 7 friends.
"Congratulations for being the best presenter," Dini greeted her friend as they walking in the school garden.
"It's not a very big deal though. What important is, we as small ambassadors of our country, should provide a good image of our society and country," Salsabila responsed humbly.
"Omedetou!" Chinen came out of sudden and greeted them. "You two did very well that day. Plus your multi language ability give you a huge bonus, Salsabila."
"Arigatou. No need to praise us so much. We all the same, have abilities, talents as well as weakness too," Salsabila said humbly.
"You're awesome too. The performance just now was great. I love those songs." Now, Dini's turn to praise Chinen.
"Sankyuu," Chinen did not pay much attention to her. He had something in his mind.
"By the way, when are you going back?" He asked Salsabila.
"Tomorrow's evening," Salsabila informed him shortly. "Sorry, I have to go now."
"Okay, Ja nee~" Chinen waved her, hoping that they could meet again before her flight.
"Oh, before I forget, can we meet somehow this evening?" Salsabila asked him.
Is it true? Or I misheard it? She ask for a meeting. Oh God, you had fulfill my wish.
"Sure. Where? What time?"
"Here at 5 o'clock."
"Okay."
******************************
Chinen had been there half an hour before 5. He wandered around to get rid from his nervousness.
Should I say it?
Of course you should. Remember this may be the last meeting. Don't regret it if you don't try.
"Konbanwa," Dini greeted him. "Sorry if you had to wait."
"Konbanwa, err..no..no..it's me...who came so early," His voice was shaking as he was still nervous. His monologue within himself ended there.
"Actually I asked you for this meeting because I want to give you this," Salsabila explained before he could open his mouth to ask.
"What is that?" He looked at the medium-thick book in her han.
"Guidance for life. The verses of God. Even if you don't want to read it, please respect it, put it at a higher place," She briefly explained and gave it to him. Chinen took it with a big question mark on his face.
"I don't understand it," he asked for a deeper explaination.
"Simply I can say that if Christians have Bible as their holy book, then this is ours. But, both ARE not the same. Sorry to say, but the Bible was already been manipulated by irresponsible person and is written in a way that benefited them. Unlike our holy book, named Al-Quran or Koran (in English), it is protected until the last day of earth. Nobody can ever change it or make something better than it. If you don't believe me, try reading it first. For further information or question, contact the address written on the first page."
Chinen looked at her. He lost his confession words. Only what he could say was...
"Salsabila, thank you very much. You had taught me a lot of new thing that I never know before. Something about God, about life and everything. You make me realise what is the real purpose of my life here, in this lovely world. Of course I will read this. If God will, I'll become one of you guys. I'm thinking of embracing the light. Let's pray together that my way to HIM is easier."
Salsabila was really shocked. She didn't expect what she had done all this while had a very big impact on the guy in front of him.
"Amin ya rabbal alamin. Alhamdulillah, YOU give me such great bounty. Insya-Allah, HE will ease you," Salsabila was very thankful to God as HE opened Chinen's heart for the right. She couldn't stop praising HIM.
The three of them were silent for some moment. They lost their words.
"Sorry we have to go now," Salsabila remembered that they had something more important, so she asked permission to leave first.
Chinen did not respond to her. He just looked at her with a mixed-emotion face. He really lost.
"I hope this is our last meeting for the time being," Salsabila told him before stepping away.
"Salsabila, thank you again for everythng," Chinen finaly said a word. He looked at them until they faded from his view.
*************************
The next day, at the airport.
"This is the last call to the passenger of flight MH1103 to Kuala Lumpur. Repeat this is the last call to the passenger of flight MH1103 to Kuala Lumpur. Please go to Gate 2"
Salsabila and Dini were among the crowd heading toward gate 2. Salsabila looked around for the last time.
Finally it's time for me to leave after having so much precious memories of a week here. Chinen, if we are fated together, surely we will meet again. Don't worry.
From far, there was Chinen standing near a booth. He came only to watch her leaving, not meeting her.
Salsabila, thanks a lot for the eternal love you've showed to me. In no time, I will follow you. Wait for me.
