Dream 8
*flashback*
[this took place before Mayuko’s incident]
“Kota, do you free this evening?”
“I’m sorry, Yuko. But I don’t think I’m free. I got plenty of work to do,” Kota pointed at the mountain of books on his table.
Mayuko sighed. “Then, when?” She stood up from the couch she was sitting on. It was the fifth time in row that her idea for a dating got rejected. She noticed it that lately he always gave excuses.
“I don’t know,” Kota shrugged his shoulder. He didn’t pay much attention to his fiancée, instead he studied his work.
“Come on, Kota. I’m your fiancée, means I’m your wife-to-be. Can’t you treat me like one properly?” Mayuko burst out her disappointment of Kota’s attitude.
She understood that the engagement was their family planning. Kota’s father was her father’s lawyer. Once he had helped his father winning a case. As to thank him, her father agreed to engage her to Mr. Yabu’s only son, Yabu Kota.
“I’m sorry, Yuko. I’ve tried, but it just that I can’t,” Kota looked up at her, expressing his sorry-look.
“But, don’t you know how much I love you?” Mayuko’s voice became louder. “I’m sick of your game, Kota,” Finishing that line, she left.
Kota sighed. What should I do? And he sighed again.
*end flashback*
“If that so, than I’ll go first,” Keito’s word swept away Kota’s train of thoughts. “You’re the one who should take care of her anyway.”
Keito was about to leave when his hand was pulled.
“Don’t leave me alone. You’ve promise to stay by my side,” Keito turned to the sleeping yet mumbling Mayuko. Kota looked at him confusedly.
“She’s sleep-talking,” Keito tried to convince the doubtful Kota.
“It’s okay. I’ve some work. Take care of her well,” Keito became more confused as Kota left.

Yuto and Ryutaro were at the double-storey Midori Library where many reference books could be found. Other books such as fictions, comics and magazines could be found too. But mostly they were academic books.
“Ryu, where are you?” Yuto half whispered, half shouted. He was looking for Ryutaro who was just beside him a minute ago.
“Shh!” Ryutaro pulled Yuto’s shirt sleeve. “This is library. You cannot make noise. Can’t you see me here?” Ryutaro was standing just a metre behind Yuto.
Yuto grinned. “Ehehe, I’m sorry.” He put on the cutest face he had.
“Like it would work,” Ryutaro avoided eye contact with him as he was tired with the older boy’s childishness.
“Ah, I can’t reach it,”
“Let me help you,”
“How is it possible? You’re shorter than me. Obviously you will fail,”
Two girls were standing in front of a bookshelf not far from them. A taller girl was trying to reach for a book on the uppermost shelf while the smaller one kept jumping like she would reach it with that.
“Can you stop jumping? It’s no use,” the smaller girl just showed her line of white teeth.
“Ano, do you need help?” Yuto politely asked. It was his nature somehow.
“Oh, I need that book,” she pointed to a thick green book.
Yuto tiptoed a bit to get the book. He was impressed as he looked at the title. ‘How the earthquakes occur?’ was what written on the hard cover of it.
“Here you go,”
“Thank you,” she bowed a bit.
“Not so big deal,” Yuto carved his greatest smile. “By the way, I’m Nakajima Yuto, Year Two Student,”
“Kitagawa Luisa,” She blushed a bit.
“By the way, you love to read such book?”
Luisa nodded. “Yeah, somehow it’s my hobby. Why do you ask?”
“Nothing. It is just that I love them too.”
“I love nature so Geography and Geology are my life. Isn’t it, Miki?” she turned to her side only to notice that Miki had gone missing. “Miki! Miki! Where are you?”
“Ryu, you’ve gone missing too?” Yuto searched for Ryutaro who vanished out of sudden too. “Where on earth are they?” he sighed.
“Just leave them alone. Anyway, wanna know about tsunami?” Luisa asked him. Yuto nodded.
“Usually when there is an earthquake with reading greater that 6, warning for tsunami is always out. Have you ever wondered why?” Luisa was testing his knowledge.
“Of course I have,” Yuto giggled a bit as he found the question was so simple. “It happens because when the earth plate moves especially in the sea area, the waves are interrupted. Therefore, it causes the normal wave to become greater as it approach the shallower beach area.” Yuto explained. Brief and concise.
“Exactly as what I’m going to say. But you forget something,” Luisa smirked. “As the wave enters shallow region, its speed decrease while its amplitude increase causing it to become higher.”
[This picture shows how the waves become higher as they travel to the shallow region.]
This girl is so clever. I have to beat her no matter what or else I’ll be embarrassed. Yuto thought.

Miki grabbed Ryutaro as they sneaked out from the library.
“Hey, where are you taking me to?” Ryutaro asked Miki felt annoyed as she suddenly pulled him for no reason.
“Let them have some time together, ne,” Miki carved her nicest smile. “Don’t tell me you want to busybody of their business,”
Unfortunately, it’s a yes.
“So, what should we do now?” Miki asked. She was bouncing a bit. It was Miki after all, a girl who could not stand still for longer than a minute.
“I don’t know,” Ryutaro answered coldly. His mind was still on Yuto.
“Then, let’s go to the access center. We can play games or surfing the net!” Miki happily suggested. Again, she grabbed Ryutaro’s hand without his agreement.
“Hey, let me go!”
A/N : Again, my explaination sucks XD. If you point any mistake there, please tell me. And if you can't understand it, you can ignore XD. But at least give it a try first.
