Summary : Hikaru was pregnant with her boyfriend's child, Yabu. As they thought of the best solutions, they met two another weird couples.
“Doctor, are you sure?” Yaotome Hikaru slammed the doctor’s desk slightly. She could not believe what the doctor said just now.
“But, we did just once. I mean ONCE!” Yabu Kota, her boyfriend defended her.
“Then, you must be wrong anywhere,” Hikaru was still rebelling.
“You have been going out with him for years. Why don’t you try it once? I mean…just once,” her best friend, Inoo Kei asked her the other day.
“I’m scared. What if I’m pregnant?” Hikaru asked back.
“Believe me, nothing will happen for once. I’ve did dozens of times, but see, nothing happen,” she tried to convince her best friend, showing Hikaru her flat tummy.
Hikaru reconsidered doing ‘it’ and finally a month ago; she did it with her beloved Yabu.
And now, they were consulting the doctor as the consequences of Hikaru’s continuously nausea and vomiting.
“Calm down, first,” the doctor finally opened her mouth.
“It doesn’t matter how many times you did, once or twice or thrice or always. What bothering is what day you did it,” she started his explanation.
“Take a look here,” she pointed to a menstruation chart.
“On average, a woman’s menstrual cycle is 28 days. Day 1 to day 5 is the ‘bleeding period’ in which her uterus lining is shed out together with the death ovum. From day 6 to 14 is the repairing zone in which the uterus wall starts to thicken. Ovulation or the release of ovum from the ovary takes place at day 14. Thus it is said that day 14 is the most fertile day for a woman. If you did ‘it’ on that day, the possibility of you to get pregnant is obviously high,”
The couple listened carefully to the explanation. Hikaru counted her finger, perhaps to count the date of her menstrual cycle.
“Oh no! It was the 14th day!” Quickly Yabu covered her mouth with his palm.
“Shh!”
“Sorry,” Hikaru bowed a bit. The young doctor just smiled as she looked at her. Stupid me! Why I never think to take prevention step?? Hikaru blamed herself.
“Then from day 15 to 28, the uterus wall continues to thicken as a preparation if fertilization takes place. If none occur, then the wall will be shed out and new cycle starts,”
Damn! That’s really happen - the fertilistion!
“So now, what should we do? I mean the best for us?” Yabu asked. He was afraid. What if their parents found out?
Both of their religious parents never know them unless as classmates. Yup, it’s the truth. Their parents were very religious that everything they did must have been related to the teaching. Plus they never forget to pray everyday. What if they know? Surely we’ll be dead meat. Thinking of that Yabu shivered.
Hikaru rubbed her tummy gently. It had not shown it shape yet for it just four weeks old. She knew that neither her parents nor Yabu’s parents would accept the child. Should I abort it?
“Most couple, I mean unmarried couples usually choose for abortion to avoid shame and responsibilities. But I won’t recommend it as the best.
Once fertilization takes place, it will form a zygote. The formation of zygote occurs at Fallopian tube or the oviduct. As it travels to the uterus or the womb for implantation, it will divide more till it forms a ball of cells called the embryo. At this stage, the embryo is known as a blastocyst that is formed of inner cell mass (embryoblast) and fluid-filled space (blastocoele). Both are surrounded by a layer of cells known as the trophoblast. It will implant itself into the endometrium (uterus wall). The inner cell mass will develop to foetus where the fluid-filled space develop to the placenta. Future growth of the foetus takes place IN the uterus wall.
Thus, if one undergoes abortion, her uterus wall is forced to break down. It is risky and lowers the possibility for her to pregnant again. So, the best solution is to keep it,” the doctor explained - so LONG!
Yabu and Hikaru looked at each others. Realizing that no solution could be concluded that time, Yabu excused themselves.
“Thank you, doctor. I’ll decide for my best,” Hikaru bowed to her, showing her gratefulness.
They walked side by side on the pavement, both with worried look. Yabu lead the walk and Hikaru just followed. Upon reaching a garden, Yabu stopped and he grabbed Hikaru’s arm before seated her on a bench. Then, he sat just next to her left.
That garden was known as the ‘Garden of Memories’ since many ‘important’ events took place there. It was their first meeting place, the place where they started holding hand, place of their confession as well as the venue they decided to do ‘it’.
Both were looking forward, speechless. They were thinking of the best solution for the problem they created.
Yabu tilted to his left. Instead of getting any idea, he got to see a couple was happily chatting together while holding hand. The taller guy was Takaki Yuya and his smaller partner was known as Rose. Once, Yabu had chatted with them. He admitted that Rose was pretty, very pretty that he himself nearly forgot Hikaru.
Rose was pretty, skin as white as snow, round face with chubby cheek, charming smile carved on strawberry-red lips and the layered shoulder-length hair with bangs covered the forehead. One would be lying for saying that he had no feeling for Rose.
Rose, a perfect girl figure except the fact that she had more leg hairs that usual girl would have. Although she covered it with transparent black sock, one still could notice that she was not genuine as her legs were big! Yup, they were big for a slim ‘girl’ like ‘her’.
Rose, she owned the full name of Yamada “Rose” Ryosuke. He was a normal boy back then who was bullied. In middle school, he was greeted by a ‘soft’ boy and starting from there, he decided to behave that way. Tough, he was admired by most of the girls in school; he kept ignoring the fact that he could be a normal boy. He found himself was a weakling and believed that he actually was fated to be a girl - but he never thought of undergoing an operation.
After graduating highschool, he started his job - as the ‘hostess’ in clubs and such - under the name of “Rose”- the short form of his name. Putting on a pair of fake breasts, nobody could tell that he was a boy for his perfect figure.
One day, he met Takaki. He found the chemistry between them that changed his mind. He was determined to change his gender - permanently! - for the sake of his happiness with Takaki tough he overlooked the fact that he’ll be infertile. He wanted to be with him forever and treated him just like other normal girls would. Pity Takaki, he never knew that his ‘girlfriend’ was not actually a girl.
Yabu shook his head. How short his mind was? How could he forget the fact that he would never get pregnant in that fake woman body? Had he ever think that they won’t have children together unless ‘she’ got a donated-ovum? A boy won’t get pregnant. Forever! Yup, that the fact. Although he got a pair of ovaries, but they won’t be functional as a girls’ do. If that so, what was the point of changing sex for the sake of marrying him?
Meanwhile, Hikaru was looking to her right. There sat another couple - a unique couple - even more unique than the first. She knew them for she had talked to them twice before.
Okamoto Keito was a perfect man dreamed by all normal girls. But he got very weird taste. He preferred to date his boyfriend from high school who turned to be none other than Nakajima Yuto.
As for Nakajima Yuto, he was no difference with Keito - a good-looking muscular tall guy. Sadly, his sexual need was wrong.
Hikaru could see how close the two ‘lovers’ were. Both were closing their eyes and getting closer to each other before their lips met while playing with each other’s lower abdomen part. Looking at that made Hikaru shivered. How could they have no shame of doing such things in public? Even animals hid themselves when having sexual intercourse. Was it meant that they worst than the no brain animals?
What’s so interesting of having partner from your own gender? Their ‘asset’ was no difference from you. So, where’s the fun and enjoyment? Wouldn’t it be more interesting to have intimacy with someone with different figure from you?
Hikaru closed her eyes. She totally could not understand it. Nowadays, society had started to accept such attitude, such disgusting relationship of non-ethical human kind. Gay and lesbian had been part of lifestyle in both Western and Eastern country, in either developed or developing country, they could found everywhere. In some countries, their marriages were approved declaring that it was part of humans’ right. What the hell is the human right if it was completely and obviously against the normality of human?
Both Yabu and Hikaru sighed. They looked at each other.
“Why are you sighing?” Both asked chorusly.
“I ask first,” Yabu claimed.
“No, it was me,” Hikaru protested.
“I’m older, so you have to obey me,”
“No, I’m younger so you have to give priority to me,”
“No, no use of quarrelling. You go first,” Yabu concluded their tongue-fight.
Hikaru did not say a word, instead she pointed to the couple - the male couple whose lips weren’t parted yet!
“Now, it’s your turn,” Hikaru asked.
Just like her, he pointed to Takaki who was wrapping his hand on Rose’s waist - focused on the big legs part.
Both shook their head then shivered. They felt scared of the current world situation. Shameless animals in human form were everywhere; social problems increase just like mushroom after massive rain; abnormality was getting weirder as day passed which resulting in none other than destruction of the global living.
“We are no different too,” Yabu admitted finally in a slow tone.
The truth, they committed a big sin too - a sin that was against all religions. And now, they were going to have a baby - an illegal baby. Even by marrying each other would not change the baby status - he/she would remain illegal forever as he/she was made before a tie was officially knotted.
An unsolved question with an extremely huge question mark: These sinful actions, these immoral behaviour - sex and pregnancy before marriage, gay and lesbian, abortion, ‘throwing out’ newly born baby and such - how could they be ended?
As dusk was approaching, they left the garden with no ‘best solution’. They were left with no choice but to keep the child and face their parents’ anger.
A/N: Yabu and Hikaru's thought happened at the same time. It was boring and slow, isn't it? I'm no good in writing.
