Dream 22

Yuri looked at the address written on the piece of paper in his hand. Yup, he was lying to Keito saying that he got nothing. But, yeah, he did not get it directly from Yuuki. So, he’s pretty right. It was Miki who helped him out as she felt sorry for both him and Yuuki.

Yuri stood up, facing the medium height gate. It was written Kaneshiro resident. He hesitated whether to ring the bell or not. He kept moving his finger to and fro the bell.

At last, with 100% courage he managed to do it. He waited patiently for the gate to open.

Meanwhile, inside the house.

“Mom, someone’s outside,” Yumi, Yuuki’s younger sister called her mother.

“Male or female?” Her mom, who was currently at the kitchen, asked her.

“A boy,” Yumi told her. “I don’t know him. Perhaps, nee-chan’s friend.”

“Yuuki’s friend? A boy? That’s weird,” Mrs. Kaneshiro thought. “Yumi, let him in,” she ordered her second daughter to do so.

The gate was opened and a girl came out from the house. She greeted Yuri and brought him in. Yuri was shaking a bit of nervousness. How would I face her parents?

“Have a seat,” Yumi invited him as the approaching the living room. Chinen sat on a couch, his eyes wandered around and his heart beat fast.

“You’re nee-chan’s friend?” Yumi asked.

Yuri nodded although he was blurred of who nee-chan referred to, but he was positive that it referred to Yuuki.

“She’s out,” she told him.

“It’s okay. Can I…see your parents?” Yuri slowly asked.

Yumi strained her face as she found the quest weird. “If that so, wait. I’ll call mom.”

Minutes later, Mrs. Kaneshiro came. Yuri stood up and bowed of respect to her.

“It’s okay. Sit down,” she sat on a single couch exactly in front of him. Their eyes made contact. “So, what made you come here?”

***********

Mayuko rested on the sofa, waiting for someone to arrive. The clock on the wall had just ‘ding’ eight times stating that it was already eight in the morning. On the coffee table in front of her was a pile of books. She had promised him to study together and he agreed to help her catch back her study.

Moments later, footsteps sound was heard, became more audile as it approaching her house. Mayuko stepped towards the main door to greet the person coming.

“You are a minute late,” Mayuko crossed her arm on her chest, pretending to sulk.

“Only a minute and you are this mad?” the boy looked at her, frowning as he poked her nose. Luckily Mayuko’s brain was able to work properly and the reflex action response immediately.

“Guess I can’t be any minute late after this,” he chuckled while Mayuko carved a smile.

“If that so, let’s start our lesson,” the narrow-eyes guy said to her as he seated himself on the single sofa.

“Can you explain this to me? It’s very confusing,” Mayuko pleaded him, showing him the book opened on the page of ‘Salt’.

“Qualitative analysis?”

Mayuko nodded.

“Cation or anion?”

“Both,”

“For example, you are given all type of cations (refer to Dream 17). Add some sodium hydroxide solution (NaOH) and ammonia solution into all solution of cations. I’ll summarise the result in the table below.

As you can see, only two metals show same properties in both solutions. Others show different behaviour as in both solutions and can be easily distinguished after this simple test. So far, got it?” Keito asked Mayuko as he stole a glance on the half-blur half-understand face.

Mayuko nodded.

“Next, to distinguish between these two metals - aluminium and lead - you can choose to use any solutions that contains either chloride or iodide ions.

For example, add some sodium iodide into both solutions. A solution will remain unchanged while the other one forms yellow precipitate. The precipitate is Lead (II) Iodide (PbI2) which is an insoluble salt.

Got it? (Guys, got it? I think it it’s a bit mess up)” Keito took a thorough look at Mayuko’s face. Somehow the interest of studying had faded.

Mayuko nodded. “I understand it very well! Ano..can we rest a bit?” she pleaded.

“Hey, it was only 10 minutes and you are already tired. No!”

“Please!” Mayuko winked a puppy eyes and her trapped seemed to work.

Keito shook his head, felt funny of her girl’s childish act. Well, she just 16, by the way. Wait! My girl?

“I never know you are this childish,” Keito teased her.

“So now, it’s good that you know,” Mayuko chuckled. Keito joined her too.

“Maybe I should tell you something,” Mayuko turned to Keito and accidentally their eyes made contact. But she loved it!

“What is it?” Keito asked her softly.

“To be truth, I never have friend nor do I want to have one in college before Haruka came,” she paused.

“Why?” Again, Keito was showing his care.

“I can’t fully adapt myself to such adult-like lifestyle. But when Haruka came, suddenly I feel like befriend her which seriously was not my true self. Then, I realised that it was because of her childishness. I need someone who can understand me as a 16 year old girl, not just as a university student,”

Slowly, Keito stitched their hand together.

“And I really glad that you do too,”

Keito smiled as he slowly brought her to his embrace.

Then…

[Predict what’s next yourself! XD]

A/N: Chinen's story is a bit messed up, I guess. Oh yeah, if you notice I've addressed them with their first name. And Keito's story did melt me too since I'm falling for him lately ^^ XD. I think I messed up the fact, if you feel so tell me ^^

Sorry I just can't resist myself to not updating this today >< since I'm currently working on Dream 27

As usual, comments please~~~
