Dream 28
One and half an hour later, the movie ended.
“It was pretty scary,” Hikari claimed as they were walking out.
“Yeah,” Kota responded very shortly. But it was better than just a nod. “How about grabbing something to eat? We can discuss more,” he suggested.
“No problem, I’m starving too,” Hikari carved a smile. She somehow remembered how many times she easily got herself stuck on Kota’s arm because of her cowardness. Thinking of it, her smile got wider.
As they got into a café, Kota chose a table at the corner with just two seats. He dragged a chair and offered Hikari the seat before dragging another seat oppositely in front her for him. Hikari blushed looking at him. A waiter came and took their order.
“It’s really scary, ne. Don’t you think so?” Hikari started the conversation, to get rid of her nervousness.
“Quite,” Kota answered - short.
“In your opinion, will it really happen? I mean the end of the world in 2012?” Hikari flooded him with question. Inside, she prayed hardly that it would never happen.
“Honesty, I don’t know how to say. But, I’ve read somewhere that it was planned,”
“What do you mean by it?” Hikari showed her eargerness in knowing the truth since she already sensed the wide knowledge of Kota - a perfect criteria of a debater!
Kota was about to open his mouth when their food came. “Thank you,” he thanked the waiter before focusing back on Hikari.
“It started since long time ago, a very well-planned agenda. If you ever know, in 1990, the New World Order was introduced and the democracy concept was urged to be applied by United States, as the consequences of the Gulf War.
Then, in 2001, there was an attack to the World Trade Centre in Washington in which the highest twin-tower was destroyed and many were killed. Also it started a ‘war’ to Islam world and spread the Islam-phobia worldwide especially in Europe country.
Since then, people had been falsely understand what Islam is and labeled all of them as terrorist especially those who are pious, say women in full hijab,”
“So, are you sidening the Muslims?” Hikari asked, still munching her food.
“I don’t know how to put in words,” Kota sighed.
“After much of reading from truthful sources, I finally realised that they were falsely accused with no prove. I mean no concrete prove ever there to say that they were responsible in the attack! Human right says that everybody should have their own right to belief and practice their own way of life, so just let them be,” he shrugged and took a sip of his drink.
“But, even in their holy book, there’s permission for war, right?” Hikari asked, still confused.
“True, but they have rules. They cannot kill randomly, cannot kill women, children and oldfolks, plus they cannot destroy other religions’ holy places, cannot kill animals and destroy plants and everything unrelated to war. In short, they can only kill the soldiers.
Muslims also are not thought to start war unless they are attacked. The purpose is to protect their religion, country, themselves and family. If you ever watch news on TV, there hasn’t been even a single news on Muslims kill unnecessary people, instead they only attack back the soldiers. For example, in Palestine, Muslims attack the Israeli because they threaten their life. They only use stones and such, totally opposite with the power posses by the Israeli,” Kota paused.
“But actually that is not what I want to say.”
Hikari nodded, agreed. “So, what’s your exact point?” Kota noticed dirt on side of Hikari’s mouth so he took a napkin and wiped it. Hikari stunted.
“Okay, so first it was 1990, then 2001. Two big events occurred. The interval is 11 years,” he paused. “Now, try to add 11 to 2001 and you’ll get…”
“2012!” Hikari answered very fast. “I got it - what you mean by planned!”
Kota smiled. She’s very good - catch up very well! “So, what you understand?” he looked straight into her eyes that Hikari blushed.
“Just my opinion, but three big events cannot be on fixed interval on coincidence,”
“So like I said, it was a planned that was very well planned by ‘them’ to destroy the world and make everyone follow ‘them’. Don’t worry; the world won’t end in 2012. Believe me! If it happens, then it means ‘they’ had success, if not then…,” again, he shrugged.
“I guess just leave it to God and keep praying.” He tried to convince Hikari.
Hikari kept nodding, agreed with everything he said - whether because they’re really true or because it was him still unknown, just she knew! “But…who are ‘them’?” she asked, curious.
Kota leaned his back to the soft chair and smiled, “I guess, it’s better to be a secret. You’ll be shock to know.”
“Please, tell me,” Hikari pleaded, trying to use her puppy eye power but it did not work. As for Kota, he found her so cute crossing her two palms under the chin. He giggled.
“So well, how’s your preparation?” Kota changed the topic. Hikari pouted.
“As what you can see,”
“That’s good. If you need any help, just ask me, ‘kay?” Kota tried to overcome her sulk. “Well, personal problem also can.” Instead of cheering her, it just made Hikari pouted harder.
“I’ll never tell my personal problem to strangers!” she was half-shouted.
“So, you just consider me as a stranger? Poor myself,”
“Like you ever consider me as…”
Kota cut her word. “...lover?”
“I never mean it, okay!” she banged the table slightly while Kota was giggling on realizing how cute she was.
Just how on earth he read my mind?
**************
Chihara was walking home from a convenience store when she saw someone familiar.
“Perhaps, I mistaken someone else,” she told herself since she could not believe it with her eyes.
“But I’m not blind to not recognise him,” she mumbled more.
She shrugged.
The person was a guy. Through Chihara’s eyes, he looked like Hikaru. Seriously, nothing was ever wrong if it was really him. Yeah, not wrong if…he was not with a girl!
And the two were so lovey-dovey, like a so romantic couple that had been together for perhaps…thousand years. The guy was wrapping his left arm around her shoulder while the other was holding an umbrella so she would not be hot.
“Euww, disgusting!” Chihara exclaimed. But is it really him?
Finally, she decided to follow the person to know the truth.
Lucky for her! Since he was heading to the same direction as her, it was easier. Upon reaching a junction, the traffic light turned red. So they had to stop. By that time, Chihara was trying to take a glance on his face. She tried some times, and finally it was a success.
But the result was really shocking. Her nightmare was real. It was the real Hikaru!
Chihara could feel that there was a sharp and accurate stab in her heart. To add to her pain, a smirk was obviously seen from the corner of that guy’s face!
But honestly, why must I feel sad because of it? Why? Why shall I care of that bitch? That bitch who keep on hurting me? Why? Why? Why?
On the entire journey, Chihara was fighting back with her own feeling!
A/N : Curious of 'them'? Well, let it be a secret...I can say, it's hard to be explained. And Chihara, be patient ne~
Will be waiting for comments^^
