Epilogue
Rhea stepped into the thirty-three storey building. She stopped at the receptionist.
“I have an appointment with Mr. Inoo Kei,” she told the lady at the counter.
“Oh, so you are the one he’s waiting for,” another lady approached Rhea. “Come with me! I’ll show you the way,”
“By the way, I’m Rhea, Longwelt Rhea,” Rhea introduced herself, starting a handshake.
“Midorikawa Rui. Kei’s secretary and perhaps…future wife too!” she chuckled at the last bit. Rhea just smiled.
Both ladies went into a lift. Rui clicked on the 25th ground and the lift began to move. Upon reaching the floor, Rui leaded Rhea to the guest room.
“This way, please,” she invited Rhea in. The room was spacious enough to occupy at most 25 persons in one time. A settee set was place near the entrance door while some additional chairs were arranged by the other side of the room.
“I’ll call him. Please wait for a while,” Rui politely excused herself. Rhea nodded and tailed Rui with her eyes till the latter disappeared through the door.
For a while, Rhea was waiting patiently in her seat. But five minutes later she felt boring and started to wander around to discover the beauty of the decoration as well as the creativity of the pattern and texture selected.
“The person who did this must be a genius,” she muttered alone, not realizing that someone had just come in and heard her.
“That was created by our best interior designer, Mr. Takaki Yuya,”
Rhea startled as someone responded to her. She turned around to see a lady - a few years older than her - was standing not far from the door while warm smile carved on her fresh lips. In her hand were some files.
“I’m Reiko. Nice to meet you Miss Rhea,” Reiko introduced herself and offered a handshake. Then both young ladies settle themselves on the settee set.
“But, I suppose to meet Mr. Inoo Kei,” Rhea spoke out her confusedness as they sat down.
“He’s out for a while,” Reiko explained. Rhea nodded, understood.
There was a little silence before Reiko resumed the talk, “I was informed that you’re here to discuss with him about your new house’s plan, isn’t it?”
Rhea nodded again.
“Well, while waiting for him, why don’t we take a look at these?” Reiko opened a file full with pictures of various type of house - from the cheap one to expensive castle-like one. Rhea looked at them one by one.
“Any design matched your taste?”
“Give me some time,”
“Go ahead,” Reiko smiled before leaning herself to the sofa.
“This design look nice,” Rhea pointed out a picture of a medium-sized house. “Moreover, our land located by the sea,” she added.
Reiko leaned forward to take a look. “Yea, it looks nice…and suits the location too. But for further confirmation…I mean to make sure that the land structure can support this type of house, we can ask our geologist to investigate it,” Reiko offered another service.
“Good that you mention. I nearly forgot that my future husband asked me to do so,”
“If that so, I’ll call him,” Reiko picked up her phone and started dialing. “Kitagawa-san, can you come here for a while? Bring Nakajima-san too. I’m at 25th floor, guest room.” After receiving and okay from the other party, she cut off the call.
“They’re on their way,” she informed Rhea. Rhea nodded.
Suddenly, the door opened, revealing two figures. Walking at the front was Kei followed by Rui who was carrying a bundle f his files. Kei sat beside Reiko while Rui placed herself next to Rhea.
“She’s interested in this design,” Reiko told Kei, pointing to the chosen picture.
“Any modification?” Kei asked for confirmation.
“Perhaps the side balcony can be lowered. It seems too high. Plus, the main living room looks a bit small. And if possible, the master bedroom can be placed at the back. One more thing…”
Before Rhea could continue more, Kei cut her. “Well, suddenly my brain is malfunctioning. I don’t know why too.” He scratched his head while throwing out a grin. “So, I think it is better if I call someone for help.” Kei looked to Rui, signing for an order.
“Up to you, as long as there’s an agreement,”
“I’m really sorry for making you wait too long before and now you have to wait again,” Kei express his guilty.
“Never mind,” Rhea smiled.
Rui was about to dial her mobile phone when someone pushed the door. It turned out to be Yuto and Luisa.
“Oh you guys are here,” Reiko claimed. “They are Mr. Nakajima Yuto and Miss Kitagawa Luisa. Mr. Nakajima usually does the outdoor work while Miss Kitagawa will examine the sample,” Reiko introduced them. “Aside from being working partner, they’re also….dating,” she lowered her tone at the last bit.
“Hey! That’s not included in introduction!” Luisa protested. Rhea giggled looking at their reaction.
“By the way, I found ‘this’ stalking outside,” Yuto told them as he dragged someone. Apparently, it was Keito.
“What are you doing?” Rui asked.
“I heard that there’s a foreign client. So, I thought you’ll need a translator service,” he scratched his head and grinned.
“Thank you very much, Keito…but she speaks fluent Japanese too,” Kei politely declined the offer as he knew that it was already Keito’s habit to wander around and volunteering for help if he got nothing to do.
Although he was young, Keito was pointed as one of the committee board member due to his excellent academic achievement. But his nature was helping people, so he chose to be an unofficial part time translator and sometime he liked to butt in, just like what he did not long before.
Keito grinned more after realizing that he was not needed.
“Anyway, since you are here, can you do us a favour?” Kei asked. Without waiting for his agreement, he resumed, “Can you please ask Morimoto-san to come here?”
“Okay! Excuse me,” he bowed and went back to the door. The others giggled at his childish action.
A few minutes later, Ryutaro arrived, together with Miki who was carrying his laptop. Keito followed them too, still grinning. Kei sighed upon seeing him but he did not chase him out. So, he sat there silently.
‘This is Mr. Morimoto Ryutaro and the girl who is glued to him, Ashiya Miki,” again, Reiko was introducing. Rhea nodded and had a handshake with the pouted-Miki.
Ryutaro, the computer expert entered the information as quick as Kei ordered. He was in charge of preparing a draft of the design as well as the 3D view of the building. They worked together until Rhea satisfied.
“Well, I’ll prepare the blueprint. You can come later in a fortnight,” Kei concluded their discussion. Everyone nodded and packed their things.
“So, when will we go to the site?” Rhea asked.
“Anytime, even now, we can!” Yuto responded immediately.
“How about tomorrow evening?”
Yuto checked his PDA. “No appointment. So it’ll be yours.” Rhea nodded.
“If there’s nothing else, then we can dismiss,” Kei looked to his sides, waiting for any reactions. Yuto, Luisa, Ryutaro and Miki had already stood up while the others were still packing.
“Oh, I nearly forgot,” Rhea suddenly said, nearly half-shouting. “Do you know any caliber engineer?”
“Then, it’ll be Yamada,” Yuto quickly responded. “I can set an appointment with him if you want,” he offered his help.
“Well then, tomorrow morning?”
Yuto nodded.
*********
As they stepped out of the room, they met with Kota who was talking to Hikaru. Chihara was with them too.
“He is our company lawyer. If you need any help, you can ask him,” Reiko whispered to Rhea.
“Hikaru-kun, you’re not working today?” Kei asked. Hikaru was a pharmacist, so it was rare to see him there.
“He’s off for a date!” Kota answered on Hikaru’s behalf only to receive a smack from him. “Even Chihara took a leave!” he added. Chihara was a senior high school teacher for physics - her nightmare before! She just grinned.
“He lied!” Hikaru denied. “He was so eager to show me his office,” he tried to blame Kota.
“But, I ask you here because you are on leave. So, don’t blame me!” he returned the ‘blame’ back to Hikaru. Chihara giggled as she realized how childish the two guys could be.
“Oh well, no use of arguing with you. I won’t win forever,” Hikaru complained. Kota pretended to sulk but he was ignored.
“Hara, let’s go! I’m starving,” He grabbed her hand and ready to leave when someone responded. It was Yuya who appeared suddenly.
“Let’s go together! You guys are going too, aren’t you?”
“Of course, we are! We haven’t gathered together for quite a time, ne?” Kei agreed on behalf of others who just nodded. “Yabu-kun, you’re going too, rite?” Kei grabbed his hand before he could decline, leaving him with no choice but to follow them. Hikaru’s smile broadened of his first ever victory over Kota!
***********
As they walked through the hallway, they stopped again. This time they WERE stopped! By Ryosuke. Together with him was Shizuka.
“Does anybody see Chinen?” he asked to the crowd of 13. But nobody nodded.
“Where has he been? It was nearly one hour since he left,” Ryosuke muttered his dissatisfaction. “I need to discuss something with him or else I’ll be scolded,” he added some more.
“Well, with whom he left?” Kota as the oldest asked. He understood Ryosuke’s worry especially when it had something to do with his job.
“If I’m not mistaken…with Yuuki,” he answered back. Somehow his answered reminded him of something.
“If so, don’t expect him to return soon,” Ryutaro added.
“Who’s Chinen?” Rhea whispered to Reiko since her eagerness forced her to do so.
“Chinen is this company’s accountant and Yuuki is his assistant,” Reiko answered, with some extra information of Yuuki.
“So, how?” Ryosuke asked again. His eyebrow furrowed.
“Well…well, what if we go for a lunch first and talk about it later?” Yuto suggested.
“Ryo-chan, I think so too. Let’s forget it for a while ne?” Shizuka also persuaded him. “I’m hungry,” she begged
After such persuasion, with the help of puppy eyes, finally Ryosuke agreed.
However, as they walked further, they met somebody at the lobby. Ryosuke was the first to notice. He approached the smaller guy.
“Chinen, you’re back? I thought it will be a little longer,” Ryosuke asked with a sarcastic tone in his voice.
“Finally the Chinens come back!” Yuto, who was behind Ryosuke and among the first walker, excitedly announced as he saw Yuri was walking in with Yuuki clinging on his arm.
“Chinens?” Rhea asked, felt weird. She knew Yuuki quite well. But isn’t she a Kaneshiro? Don’t tell me that….
“Of course, they are officially married!” It was Ryutaro’s turn to announce. A loud applause was heard as the others were acting like they had just known the news.
“But they’re so young,”
“Age is never a barrier for love,” Keito added. He giggled slightly as he clearly remembered how Yuri went proposing her immediately after graduating and how she agreed with a condition - again, the Princess of Conditions!
As for him, he had to wait for at least two more years till Mayuko came back. She was currently furthering her study in the Oxford University, coincidentally to be in the same place as her senpai - Sakura Yume.
“Ne, Yuuki, why do you look pale?” Miki came forward and observed Yuuki closer. Yup it’s pale!
“I don’t know either. But I’ve been dizzy all this while, plus I vomit two times already,” Yuuki told her friend.
“Chii, you better take her to the clinic,” Kota the eldest suggested.
“What for?” Yuri asked, emotionless.
“Who knows, she’s expecting,” Hikaru said, half whispered. He winked. The girls nodded.
“Nonsense! I don’t think there’s a need to,” Yuri responded, still emotionless. However, soon as he finished his word, Yuuki fell down panicking Yuri all the way back.
Are you sure? But….
“Let’s go to the clinic. I’ll take the car,” Kei hurriedly made a move. Yuya was calming the crowd as they turned into a chaos.
“Guess we have to forget lunch for a while,” Kota sighed.
****************
-At the clinic-
“You wait here. I’ll call the doctor,” Ryutaro ordered Yuri. He took out his phone and started dialing someone. Apparently it was Daiki.
“So, what’s happen?” Daiki asked curiously as he approached them. Quickly Yuya came forward and explained, “Perhaps she’s expecting,” he whispered to Daiki.
Meanwhile, Yuri was leaning against the wall, still carrying Yuuki in his arm. Well, Yuuki was just light so he did not feel much burden. He was so lucky that his friends did much for him. He looked at Yuuki and caressed her face gently.
Is it really true? And he planted a kiss on her forehead.
“If that so, I think it’s better to take her to the gynecologist. I’ll tell her directly. Follow me,” Daiki asked Yuri.
Daiki dialed his phone and got a quick response.
“Okay, she’s waiting. Let’s go,”
Following them were their not-so-busybody friends!
-Inside the room-
“Lay her down there,” Haruka, the gynecologist asked Yuri. Upon laying her down, suddenly Yuuki gained consciousness. She opened her eyes and Yuri took a deep breath.
“Where am I?” she asked.
“Shh!” Yuri brought his point finger to Yuuki’s lips. “Just follow what they asked. Believe me, nothing is wrong,”
“So, shall I start now?” Haruka came nearer. Yuri nodded. He moved to give space for Haruka.
From far, Yuri observed what Haruka was doing with frowning forehead.
-Meanwhile, outside the room-
“Eh? Why are you here?” Kota was a bit thrown backward upon seeing Hikari who suddenly came from who-knows-where.
“Hey! How come you forget it?” Hikari was shouting slightly that Kota covered his ear to avoid deafness.
Kota strained his face that he looked ten years older than his actual age.
“Obviously, I come for an appointment!” Hikari rubbed her medium-sized tummy, nearly fourth month of gestation, gently. “This time I let you free, but if you ever forget it again, then you’ll know what the result is,” Hikari showed her not-so-big fist and a fierce face.
“Uwaa~~ Scary!” Kota pretended. He ran to Hikaru, asking for ‘help’. Hikari just ignored him; instead she was looking at Machiko who was standing next to her. Both of them came straightly from Tokyo University where Hikari worked as a lecturer and Machiko was doing her Master.
Poor Kota, Hikaru too was ignoring him as he was too preoccupied chatting with Chihara of their wedding ceremony plan. Kota pouted, rebelling for being ignored.
Just as the chaos started as the younger boys were teasing Kota, Daiki passed by saying that Haruka had just called him. Soon, he entered the room where Chinens couple was in and again, his not-so-busybody friends were following!
*************
-Inside the room-
“Congratulation!” they shouted as they stepped into the room, that both Daiki and Haruka gave them ‘warning look’ like ‘if you tend to shout again, I’ll kick you out’. They chilled out. The Chinens couple just looked at them emotionless.
“By the way, are you okay?” Luisa approached Yuuki who was still on the bed, sitting.
“Of course I am,”
“So, what month is it?” Shizuka’s turn to ask though she knew it would be pretty naughty to ask such quest when the result was not clear yet. But she pretty much confident that her guessing was true. Upon hearing it, the later-came Hikari and Machiko gaped. It should be really good news!
“Ha? What are you thinking of? It just a food-poisoning,”
“Eh?” Their eyes rounded and jaw dropped - really and for real! “We thought it was something else!” they exclaimed in dissatisfaction.
“See, I told you already, but you guy didn’t believe me,” Yuri butted in from far corner of the room where he isolated himself, secretly laughing at his friends’ reaction.
“For any reason, why are you so sure?” Keito approached him with some kind of grudgeful look.
“Because I’m still a virgin,” Yuuki answered on behalf of her husband. Yuri just smirked.
And the others went “Eh??” again.
From nowhere, a fairy flew in and whispered, “Finally they lived happily ever after~~”
--- THE END ---
Firstly, Alhamdullillah, praise to God. Finally I manage to finish this story tough there’re many obstacles and such. Infinity of thanks to those who keep supporting me from the very beginning. You are the best, girls! Thank you!
And yeah, I’m really sorry especially to OCs that I’m not fulfilling your wish. I hope OCs’ appearances are well-balanced and I’m really sorry if it’s not.
I admit that I’ve did a lot of mistakes from the very beginning (the oc-search, incomplete form and such). Please forgive me, ‘kay?
Throughout this fic, I learn so many new things - Friendship, English, the way to handle OCs and much more thing. I’m not a great writer or such, just an amateur one, so don’t expect too much from me. Plus, my English also is not that good. I learned a lot of new things through LJ and other fics. Plus I got many new real friends too!
Anyway, I try to do better for my upcoming fic. I’ll start working on it after my exam which is in the second week of December. Final call for the OC-application. You can take a look
here.
Perhaps, I’ll be on semi-hiatus. So, jaa~ See you later.
