Chapter 10
There's a way always

“Believe in my true heart. Houkaku wa kimatta (There’s a way always).” Suddenly Yamada sang a line from ‘Brave Story’. Every member looked at him confusedly. What’s with him?

“Enough, Yama-chan. Your voice is terrible,” Takaki complained. He was listening to his music player.

“Ah, you’re jealous of me. It’s a fact that I have a beautiful voice. Well, I’m the best singer….” Yamada haven’t finished his words when Takaki continued complaining.

“Stop being proud of yourself, Yama-chan. The best singer is of course our Yabu-kun.” Yabu smiled when he heard that praise from his bandmate.

“I haven’t finished my sentence yet. I’m the best singer in 7, not JUMP,” Yamada defended himself. “I know that I can’t beat our Yabu-kun high pitch voice ever.” Yamada said in a humble tone.

“Come on, Yama-chan. I’m just kidding,” Takaki soothed him. He pinched Yamada’s chubby cheek. However, Yamada just ignored him and moved near Chinen.

“Hey Chii, what’s up? You look happy today,” he greeted Chinen.

“Nothing. Just the same as usual,” he replied shortly. Chinen didn’t pay attention to Yamada as he was preoccupied playing with a game.

“Chinen, why don’t you approach her more appropriately? You looked awkward on your previous ‘date’,” Yamada asked nicely with a soft tone.

“What?” Chinen was shocked and nearly shout when hearing the question but he tried to cover it. “I can’t get your point,” he simply gave a response.

“What is this chaos?” Daiki suddenly interrupted when he heard Chinen’s half-shout. Ryutaro came with him too.

“Well, our dear little Chii is getting a girlfriend,” Yamada announced. All the members focused on them.

“What is it, Yama-chan? Can you repeat it?” Hikaru asked to confirm that he didn’t misheard that.

“Chii’s fallen in love!” Yuto answered.

“Wow!” Hikaru was excited to know it. “It’s good, ne?” The other members nodded, agreeing with him.

“Who’s she?” Keito asked eagerly to know.

“What are you talking about? Its nonsense,” Chinen tried to escape from that topic. He pretended to not paying attention but Yamada forced him to do so and even take his game.

“Just admit it, Chii-kun,” Ryutaro said smiling. “We already saw her.”

“That girl with a beautiful eyes and cute matured face,” Yamada added.

“And her name is Salsabila,” Yuto expanded it. “A nice name, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, but it’s an unusual name. Seems odd,” Inoo commented. “Is she a foreigner?”

“Of course,” Chinen answered in suddenly. “But, she’s not more than a friend.”

“So, you admit it?” Yuto asked happily.

“By the way, how come you know all that?” Chinen asked curiously.

“It’s such a coincidence. Actually, we wanted to ask you something so we went to the registration table. Suddenly, we noticed that you were chatting with a girl. We didn’t want to interfere in such interesting talk so we just looked from far. Luckily, we managed to spot that girl accurately,” Yamada told the truth.

“Such a coincidence again, I met her in the hallway. I took that opportunity to ask for her name,” Yuto added his story.

“So, you’re the one who lead them to the rooftop?” Chinen wanted for a confirmation.

Yuto nodded. “Because I knew that you’ll go there too. It’s good for the both of you to meet again. Well, my guess is true and a lovey-dovey chat had happen there.”

“What type of girl is she?” Takaki asked Chinen. “You must answer it sincerely,” he commanded.

“Well, I’ll rather call her an ‘iron girl’,” Chinen answered straightly.

“Iron girl? What do you mean by that?” Takaki became more confused.

“Well, she’s the weirdest freak I ever meet,” he’s just getting Takaki more confused. “It’s hard to be explained. Maybe, someday you’ll know.”

“By the way Chinen, you must keep this away from Johnny-san. You’ll be in trouble if he knows this,” Yabu reminded him.

“Don’t worry. I won’t date her alone,” Chinen convinced him.

“You’re so sure,” Daiki said. “Anyhow, we’ll always be by your side and support you. So, don’t worry.” He wrapped his arm on Chinen’s shoulder.

“We’re a family, don’t we?” Inoo asked and the other agreed with him. After that, they continued doing their own work.

“So, how it is? Everybody has given you a green light. Will you go confess to her?” Yamada asked him heart to heart. There’re only the two of them at that corner.

“Hey, come on. Who said that I like her? Just friends,” Chinen denied it. However, his eyes couldn’t lie.

“Enough, Chii. Just admit it. Your eyes didn’t lie.” Chinen remained silent. “You have to remember that she’s going back soon.”

“Yeah, it’s true that I like her,” Chinen finally admit it with a deep sighed. “But how could I? You know that it’s hard to approach a girl like her.”

“I know that,” Yamada said. “But you have to believe in yourself. Remember your line in ‘Brave Story’?” he asked.

“Sure. It’s the one that you sang just now.”

“You must have confident in yourself. We’ll always support you.” He patted Chinen’s shoulder before he stood up and went away. “There’s a way always, Chii!”

*********************************

“Your turn is tomorrow, right? Are you fully prepared?” Chinen remembered asking the girls after the opening ceremony, especially for his lovely Salsabila. They looked very relax compared to the other participants.

“Insya-Allah*, we’ll do our best,” the girls answered almost the same.

“We had worked hard until this level. The rest, we leave it to HIM. Anyhow, there’s a way always.” Salsabila continued.

“Furthermore, champions won’t do things at the last minutes,” Dini added in.

“You believe in ONE GOD only, right?” The girls nodded although they quite confused with Chinen’s sudden topic.

“What’s your rational for that and to reject the concept of trinity?” Chinen asked.

“Well, I’ll rather give you an example, so it’s easier for you to understand,” Salsabila said.

“What do you think will happen if Japan has two prime ministers?” she asked back.

Chinen thought for a while. “Maybe it’ll develop more rapidly.”

“Don’t you think it’ll corrupt?” she tested him.

“Why?” Chinen became confused.

“Both of them must have their own ideas on how to manage the country. And of course not all the idea can be accepted by both persons. Then, they’ll be a quarrel. Or, if it’s not that, maybe one of them gets envy of the other’s victory and try to get rid of him.” She explained her opinion. “As conclusion, two managers on one thing are totally impossible despite whoever they are.”

“Yeah, your reason is acceptable. Now, I understand it. Thank you so much,” Chinen agreed with her. “By the way, best of luck for tomorrow.”

“We’ll do our best,” the said enthusiastically.

“With HIS will, nothing is impossible!” Salsabila ended the short talk.

There’s a way always!

And nothing’s impossible with HIS will!

Chinen took the phrase as his charm words. I’ll try!

Note :
Insya-Allah - Literally translated as 'With God's will'
