» Weakness: Easily, Iphigenia’s main weakness is her reliance of those around her liking her. Her father is a large weakness as many things she’s done are to gain his attention, and his betrayal (will) simply fuck her up.

She also believes strongly in black and white, and can hold a grudge forever. She’s not someone you want to piss off, unless you like little girls pouting at you forever. Or shouting at you, it’s not very pleasant.

Also to be noted is Iphigenia’s fear of large black dogs that she never seems to escape…

» History: Born in the considered 'Hellenistic' era, in modern history, Iphigenia was the eldest daughter of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon. Easily the most spoiled of the four children (Electra, Chrysothemis, and Orestes) being so much older than the rest of her siblings, Iphigenia was easily a favorite. She knew this, and was more than fine with it - and didn't rub this into her sibling's minds in the slightest. She was a bit more concerned with her father, and his attention towards her (as he seemed the exception to the rule).

Agamemnon, to put it simply, is an awe-inspiring figure. He ruled his kingdom well, was loved by his citizens, and family alike. It was only until later that a few started to see his darker, and ruthless side. (Thought not to say there weren't hints before). A handsome man, a busy man, and a somewhat distracted one: he was made to idolize. The few bits of attention, Iphigenia could get from him were treasured, and she constantly strived to be in his direct line of affection.

Upon Iphigenia's fourteenth year though, things changed. It was at this time Aphrodite had Helen of Sparta (Iphigenia's aunt on both sides) fall in love with Paris, Prince of Troy. This launched the infamous Trojan War, and Iphigenia was left behind as her father prepared for war, and forgot her marriage plans to the great Achilles. Not sitting well with Iphigenia at all, this normally happy and bright girl slid into a state of depression as everyone rushed about around her.

In between all this, Agamemnon somehow pissed off Artemis - and Iphigenia, in the back of her mind heard of this, and simply made note to not do anything to anger the great goddess herself. There was the vague hope that this might somehow stop Agamemnon from leaving for Troy, but she dismissed that soon enough, growing more and more sullen about the household, paying more attention to Orestes than before.

News came though - not long after Agamemnon had left - that Iphigenia was to be called to Aulis. There, she was mean to be married to Achilles before they set off to war. Iphigenia instantly perked up, and she took this as a sign her father really did love her, as much as she did him. No thoughts that this could be a trap crossed her mind, and she fell neatly into the said trap at her arrival in Aulis.

There she was clad in the yellow bridal robes, and with a quick hug to both dear parents, Iphigenia set to the temple - an abnormality it seemed to her, but she didn’t question it. She was climbing the steps to the altar, once suddenly her surroundings changed, and she found herself in the Parthenon Apartment Complex, saved before being sacrificed to Artemis.

» Personality: Iphigenia, as the eldest princess of Mycenae, was raised in particular to mind those of an elder status. In her current behavior, it’s easy to say that Iphigenia is sincere with her respects towards the Immortals as well as Monsters - but towards mortals? Well, easily enough her respect is more out of propriety versus sincerity. As far as she knows she isn’t any better than any other mortal - but that goes vice versa with that none are better than her, excluding her father, mother, and perhaps demi-gods.

Slightly spoiled, and having enough experience to realize things, Iphigenia can on occasion manipulate those around her - just enough, begging or beseeching, though not always working on quite everyone. More often, Iphigenia’s choices are made in sincerity, with a desire for a simple outcome.

She’s generally a happy person, unless she has a grudge against you and that in itself is a rare occurrence, mostly related to betrayal. She has a strong set of ideals of right and wrong - you can guess where that came from - though isn’t quite sure how that applies in the real world. She’s easily confused about these instances because of it, and often will put blame on those not directly involved. as in she’ll blame anyone she can blame, given the chance, hero worship destroyed in seconds

Lastly, Iphigenia has not had much interactions with those not her age, instead mostly with those much older and younger than her. This puts her at a firm disadvantage with those her age, with her strange mix of being mature and immature. As she grew up in a sheltered household, she’s rather naïve and curious about things one would think a nearly married girl would know about. However, she’s easily wiser than those her age in certain aspects such as doing the ‘right’ thing (don’t run off with some else, when your husband’s brother heads the Greek army), saying no to drugs (Haven’t you heard what happened to the initiates of Dionysus?), and not pissing the Gods off (need I say more?).

» Sample Journal:

The apartment manager said that these things - come-pew-ters I think? - are supposed to help me figure things out here. Muttered something about not envying me, but I think this sounds nice! There’s no war about to start from one thing

In any case, I’m Iphigenia. Does anyone - and I don’t mean to inconvenience any of you in any way - know where I can find my family? Supposedly some of them are here, and I’d love to reacquaint hug find thank be with them again.

» Sample Roleplay:

The elevator was simply fascinating. Thirteen buttons, labeled ‘L’ through ‘12’ blinked on as her fingers pressed on them. A low gasp of awe escaped Iphigenia as the ground below her suddenly lurched, and she grabbed onto the handrail, circling around the box.

What was the floor again? She thought it had been six, but couldn’t be sure…a slight grin as she bit her lip, and swiftly pressed all the buttons, so they shone a bright yellow. Again, the floor beneath her lurched, as the doors of the elevator slid open.

The man on the other side was unfamiliar, but Iphigenia merely grinned and waved at him before calling out, “I’m trying to find my mother - Clytemnestra. Do you know where she is?”

The quizzical look on his face, and the look of horror that followed was lost on the young girl. She simply frowned, waiting for him to stumble out a reply on where the axe-wielder was.
