I really like the Gimlet. I made it with Tanqueray which is not as crazy gin-y as I expected. Very fresh and clean. Would make an excellent summer drink.

Strawberry daiquiri was with out-of-season Mexican strawberries, Bacardi white and agave nectar (rather more than the recipe calls for). Agave doesn't work as well I think.

The gimlet would, I think, be really refreshing in the summer heat. Limey and herby :)

The daiquiri should be tried again, I think, with simple syrup -- but it was very simple and delicious with the agave. Real strawberry and real lime are phenomenal!

Sidecar is epically better than I expected. It's very alcohol-y, but almost caramelly-smooth in taste. Delicious!

I'm surprised I liked it at all, given how much brandy is in it. But I'd give it another go. I think pineapple instead of lemon might be inspired.

Renaissance reminds me of what the Manhattan would be, if the Manhattan were a woman. I think it also suffers from poor ingredients (St. Remy VSOP, Stock vermouth, wrong bitters) but I'm surprised I like it as much as I do.

Algonquin: surprisingly drinkable, especially as I don't really care for pineapple juice. Am surprised at how drinkable brandy is. M. added extra pineapple on top of the generous ounce I put in and apparently you can't taste anything else.

Curry mayo deviled eggs were perfect at this point.

Victor was alright; the gin sharpened the brandy nicely but it didn't seem very outstanding to me. Tasty but forgettable.

Somewhat sloshed at this point, having had three strong cocktails inside of less than ninety minutes.

Maple Manhattan? Bacon Manhattan? I think this sounds brilliant.

Next up: something with the leftovers of my Saskatoon berry coulis and some gin.
