I take more of a Mr. Darcy approach: "My good opinion once lost is lost forever". I find myself wondering if I lost the pleasure of several decent friendships/relationships that way-- but its how I am.

It's difficult to know when someone deserves a second chance. Personally I have decided on conditions that disqualify people from my good grace, and take a hard line on it. Sometimes it hurts wanting to give someone that chance, but sticking to my guns has definitely saved me from giving an undeserving person another shot at me.

I hope you feel better, and remember what an amazing person you are. "Dumbly optimistic" or not, to forgive is divine. <3<3
