Parkinson's law: "work expands to fill the time available for its completion." Well spank me sideways and call me Charlie. I thought that was just the general working of my life, and here I find it's a law. For example: I find myself filling up the last hours before my final (it is at 9:30am tomorrow, and it is 2:00am now) desperately trying to learn. And how it fills it.
it's the story of my life. If I have a whole day and need to read one chapter - then it will take me the whole day to read that one chapter. Reasonable things like reading the chapter in the beginning of the day and then having the rest of the day off just doesn't work in my brain.
