Thinking of titles is just too hard...

My brother came by yesterday for a bit, he looks like an old used teabag. This breakup has been hard on him and he is leaning on family and friends to give him some comfort. I'm not that good at it but he knows where to go. I had spoken with his ex-girlfriend some more so I could at least alleviate a few of his worries, but they are both at war.

Maybe you know what I mean, when they talk to each other they tell each other things that strengthen their case and hurt the other. While when they talk to their friends or others they tell a more balanced story, what they did wrong how they still feel about the ex. The type of psychological warfare is familiar to me, as are their legitimate complaints. But there is no set solution so if they find each other again or stay apart I will feel the same.

What will be will be, my own relationships with other people tend to bring that line into my head too. If the person is not meant to be yours forever more then at least you will have learned from each other, I hate it when people claim they wasted time on each other. Way to to go if you want to disrespect your own hopes and efforts. But I guess that is often how they try to make themselves feel better about the ending, vilify the ex partner.

I have more respect for people who can admit they will always love something about the other person but it wasn't meant to be. Personal differences. Those are more likely these days when it is so easy to loose respect for someone ...and to treat others without respect in the first place even. Date around and ditch someone if they wear socks in sandals.

Hm that reminds me of something that occured to me the other day. I blame the tendency for emotionless promiscuity for the modern love for naked girlybits. Now there seems something cool and even expected about female sexuality and virginity seems to be something some people feel they have to get rid of as soon as possible to seem empowered and desired. The pornstar is a sexsymbol not the pure maiden.

But while being "open for business" is popular the girl will have to look more flawless for the loveless encounters. If you build up a relationship and are in love who cares about a missed shave or flaw, the lovers body is the temple of worship regardless. In a place where all that matters is getting pleasure any flaw is enhanced. Fat is forbidden. Strip yourself of any hair and make it look clean, young and untouched. But oh dear...what do you find under the hair! Your left inner labia is slightly bigger than the other side! OMG you don't look like a barbie.

Run to the doctor and have it cut off! And while you are at it bleach your asshole too. When you meet a guy you can pretend you don't use the bathroom for anything but to powder your nose and any hole you have is only used to put things into. Pffft

Well that was a bit of a tangent but I do believe the way your culture treats love and relationships influences our body images. And our emotional well being of course.
