Water never seems to work well for me when it comes to not snacking but it's always a good idea to make sure you are not actually thirsty when you feel hungry. Lots of people get that, mostly because they drink too little or just coffee. My mother was like that I think, drinking a cup of coffee in the morning and then an occasional little glass of something and some water at dinner. If I do that even with pure water I end up very thirsty and peeing badly.

To stop snacking I need bodily exercise. I mostly eat out of boredom and a feeling of blah.

A bottle is handy when you are out and about but at home I find them kind of hard to wash, plus you get a sort of vacuum if you try to drink too fast. Most bottles have too narrow tops. They are handy for measuring how much you drink though, I messure out my glasses in a measuring beaker.
