The admissions person where I work is high up on the authority chain... which really drives me nuts for multiple reasons. But for now, let's just talk about the note she left me ( Read more... )

Must... not... get... started........

Oh, the hell with it. "Your" is replacing "you're", no matter who's doing the writing--or is that "whose"?

The your/you're confusion drives me BATTY.

Of course, I'll make the occasional fast typing online RP mistake with it and then quickly OOC my spelling mistake. I get absolutely horrified with myself when I see it and MUST let everyone involved know that I really do know the difference!

Loose/lose is my biggest pet peeve though. I think it comes from reading too much fanfiction...

My biggest pet peeve? When people say "Hour" instead of "Our". Jeez people, learn the difference.

:P I was just kidding, the two are homophones and there is no disernable difference in the sounding of the two. One of my real pet peeves, however, is when I catch myself using its or it's incorrectly.

Ah, see, I was reading "say" as "typing" but that you just said 'say' because, well, that was the only way that made sense, so I just corrected myself, but here you were just kidding around! Hmph! ^_~

It's/its is definitely one of those that I occasionally have to stop and say it out loud without the contraction to make sure it makes sense.
