So, at Tekkoshocon I managed to complete my set of DVDs for the anime Betterman (I found all but the last disk in a clearance box in the dealer's room for five bucks each, I had the last one on my shelf at home, it was fate). It's pretty good. Interesting. A bit like a biomechanical engineer's orgasm with some giant robots and metahumans thrown ( Read more... )

That sounds really insane...

I haven't watched anime in a couple years. The last one I watched was called Baccano!, which was pretty crazy in its own right. It skipped around through time between four different storylines involving these immortals who had been on a voyage where an alchemist managed to raise a demon who gave everyone on the ship eternal life. And since most of the action took place in the early 1900s-1930s, there were a lot of gangsters and bootleggers, and a train heist, and psychopaths, and a creepy immortal child who moonlighted as a gunrunner... Fun fun fun.

It is so insane. "Don't worry, Keita. When I die I'll turn into a flower and my brother will eat me, and then maybe he'll save you." ...Yep. It only makes slightly more sense in context.

I haven't seen Baccano! but I've heard the name before I'm pretty sure. I'm interested now. XD Wonder if I can find it anywhere.
