Tarnished Armor's third birthday was four days ago. (It began Jan 16, 2001). Is that crazy or what? Chapter six is out to beta and will be posted in the next couple of weeks. I guess it's sort of like an anniversary eh?
TA started out as a submission for Cream n Chrysanthemums APA. I wrote it intending to make it a one shot but as I approached the end, I felt it needed to go on. I decided to expand it to three chapters. From there, three became five, and five became "write until it's done." CnC APA closed down, but I kept going. I started muddling with a language, mostly to help me with naming things, but also just because I like that sort of thing. The appendices threatened to out-length the story!
In 2003 I actually did not write very much. What you are reading in Chapters 5 and 6 was largely written over 2002. There's quite a bit of revising that I've been doing over 2003, but not as much writing.
My goal for 2004 is to write as much of TA as I can. I think the entire piece will need massive rehauling once it's all written, but I want to write it all down first. I have part of chapter 7 started and one of my favorite scenes happens in it, and it will likely close book 1.
Thanks to those of you who stuck through for three years and followed Marcus and Geran through their journeys, and who still remember them even when I don't.
