synesthesia is the shit! There's a theory that most people have a mild form of it, and that it is the basis of human creativity. Some people have it pretty severely and a lot of people have used it to become math prodigies and the like! Since all our sensory systems are relayed through the thalamus, it's pretty likely that sometimes wires get crossed.
I have a couple books on this topic if you're interested. Part of my brain library!

i do the same thing. one of them i do is colors with sounds and dates.

like i have diffrent colors for the day of the week and diffrent color schemes for certian songs.
