Soon I'm sure I'll make a post spilling my heart about these last few months of absenteeism, but for now, a meme stolen from
bellalumina:
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Long-term relationship. Eep, scary.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any and I probably still won't make any...they make me feel bad because I never keep them. :)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My grandmother.
5. What countries did you visit?
None other than good old US and A, unfortunately.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Self-confidence! A little more faith in myself.
7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Sept. 2, my mother's wedding.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
This will sound silly...but an A in my econ class. That, and letting go of that whole Ross thing once and for all.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Being so down on myself.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, knock on wood.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My digital camera!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My two best friends. Great girls. I'd be lost without them as examples to aspire to and shoulders to cry on or laugh on.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My mother, sometimes. Ross. A couple of my roommates sometimes.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Health insurance. And clothes and music, because I'm such a girl.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Great concerts. Good times with my friends, with my boyfriend.
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Jeez. "Emma's House," by the Field Mice reminds me of summer. "Steady Rollin'," by Two Gallants, reminds me of autumn. And "History of Lovers," by Iron & Wine and Calexico remind me of spring.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same. I am never going to lose those ten vanity pounds.
iii. richer or poorer? Again, about the same.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Being carefree.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being insecure and worrying.

With my daddy and my kitties.

None!

REGINA SPEKTOR. And Two Gallants.
28. What did you want and get?

A plane? I want for nothing right now. :)
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Borat or Little Miss Sunshine.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I went to dinner with my boyfriend, then drank margaritas and watched Chapelle's Show. I turned 19 (shhhh...the margaritas were, uh, virgin).
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being less worried and insecure.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Um...girly. I tried to dress like those sorority girls for a while, but that didn't really turn out all that well, so I went back to the only thing I can do...vintage-y.
34. What kept you sane?
My friends and my dad.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

My boyfriend.

This is tough..
"I hear in my mind all of this music/And it breaks my heart" (Regina Spektor, "Fidelity")
"Julie, I swear, it's so hard to bear it/And I'd never make it through without you around" (Fountains of Wayne, "Hey Julie")
"You are what you love/Not what loves you back/And I'm in love with illusions, so saw me in half/I'm in love with tricks, so pull another rabbit out your hat" (Jenny Lewis, "You Are What You Love"
