I had this thought that it wasn't really the people in the world I despised and hated, but merely the thoughts they had been programmed to think and the ideologies they had been taught. I realized what I wanted to destroy were the memes, because the person is really just a container for these information-transfers, like a chromosome is a transfer of genetic material.

I was wondering just how I could kill something when people so desperately cling to it? This is beyond even reason; because reason is a creation of the imagination. Imagination created reason. . .(and as far as what you said in this post; I wholly agree).

I mean, not all minds want to be free. Often I feel like Morpheus in the Matrix, just pleading for people to open their minds. . .like a beggar of truth. It's not supposed to be what I do. . .because as hard as I try, of course, the person will endlessly just cling to what they want to cling to, and have what values they want. . .

So I guess, I don't really know what I was trying to say, lol.

No I get what you are saying, and yeah, I mean I think that was the revolution of LSD in the 60s was that here was a chemical which was all but guaranteed to force people to have a religious experience.

I think that a lot of it is physical, not just drugs, but environmental conditions and stresses that induce states of fear, stupidity and neophobia.

Ultimately it seems like it all has to be the right timing. The 60s never would have happened because someone tried to make it happen or planned it or thought of it, it was just a bunch of things at once...affluent middle class, extended adolescence, birth control, drugs, university environment, amplified music, television, international communications, etc.

Hopefully this internet wave is still in it's infancy. All I can tell you is that whatever brought me here and you here either knows what it's doing or it's totally nuts; in which case none of it matters anyhow. So I guess I'm going with misguided faith and impatient despair in the mean time?

It's sad to see how many zealot atheists can lower themselves to being worse than any of the Christians they resent so strongly. The world would be a better place with fewer zealots.

For sure. I forget where the quote "Death to All Fanatics!" comes from, but I like it.
