Light means inclusion. It shines on us all. Even the blind.

Light is the tangency of the real universe into our own. There is no "light from the sun." There is no "light from the stars, or a hundred-watt bulb." Let there be Light.

Light is made equivalent with Reason, FOR a reason. Light is the possibility of awareness that is supra- the self. Because light is just that most obvious thing we don't control. And it has the appearance of something coming into and at us from outside, like a door opening into where we are from someplace larger.

Satchmo had it right though:
The bright, blessed day
The dark sacred night
I prefer the dark, myself. Aesthetically, too ( ... )

"the Cosmos would be experienced as 'everything' 'all of the time' from every perspective at once."

I think that is how we DO experience. What we spend our time doing is trying to pretend otherwise. I am less and less able to separate the past from the present in any real way, it is all happening Now. And all perpsectives, in the obfuscation that comes from trying to find a place to rest among them comes the realization they are One to start with.

That's interesting that you perceive a larger Now, I'm not sure I've experienced that lately, but it sounds either wonderfully enlightening, dangerous, or both. I do experience time, occasionally, as the abstraction that it is and marvel at the absurdity of humans carrying around all these little synchronized timers everywhere and believing in them like oracles but I don't ordinarily experience psychedelic timelessness (is it tomorrow, or just the end of time DA DON DA DO DAN DAH...)

I don't know why I do, but I do. To be reasonable about it, I think it just has to do with having a really, really good memory. So that the moments of my life that matter most to me, never end. They're still happening. They're happening now. I sure the HELL feel 9/11 has not stopped happening, it send event waves forwards and backwards through time that continue on ( ... )
