I found out today one of the kids at my club got hit by a car yesterday by a drunk driver while riding her bike and was taken off the ventilator this morning. Her mother came in to give us the news this morning.

I try very hard to not take my work home with me, but days like today make that very hard.

My new job as teen director at the boys and girls club rules a lot. We have almost 300 kids a day and that is absolutely insane when school lets out and all the kids run over to the club excited and hopped up on energy drinks. 1.) I packed up all my things from my desk today. It's a weird feeling. Each of the kids gave me a note telling me their favorite memory from this year. They were so wonderful to read, most of them made me laugh, some of them made me want to cry...i had forgotten so many of them ( Read more... )
