You are such a beautiful writer it must be hard to choose! But I would agree with these choices--they are lovely and moving and filled with longing and emotion. I am so glad you also chose to include a humor piece, because people do love them--moi aussi! This one is very funny.

Funny thing about what we love and what others like to remember of us! I want to write an epic, tragic, beautiful, romantic, philosophical, thinky piece about the heroic Finweans and I produce messy houses, family feuds, lovers' squabbling, and loud, misbehaving children and those are the ones that people love! Oh, well! We write what we know, I guess.

Aw, thank you so much! I'm afraid I get a little maudlin at times but I'm a sucker for longing and emotion. Write what you know, right?

You're right about what we like of our own stuff compared to what others like of our stuff. One never knows what will capture the imaginations of others. Personally I always find your stories epic, tragic, romantic and philosophical. Plus, your characters always have a sense of humor. It's the messy stuff that makes them relatable and real.

These are all marvelous, and I think you can guess my favorite of the examples. :^)
