I tried two episodes of this show and couldn't get into it. I'm not saying it's bad. It seems well constructed and based on decent source material.
I think it's just because I never really got into the fantasy genre beyond Tolkien, and it's hard for me to get into something of that sort without some kind of pre-existing nostalgic attachment.
Also, after Lost, I don't have the energy for another show with 20 main characters to keep track of with a dense mythology.
Not trying to shit on your opinion. Like I said, I'm not saying it's bad, but I felt the need to get that off my chest without another person saying, "WHAT THE HELL? YOU DON'T LIKE GAME OF THRONES? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
Now excuse me. The new season of True Blood starts this weekend, and I've sorely missed my vampire stories. :P
I admit - the first 4 episodes are rough...but episode 6 is the turning point for that show. I am glad I stuck with it. The ending was beautiful. Anyway, I understand and I may try out True Blood again. :D
