Summary: Ending of a relationship between Eunsook and Key. But they love each other, they really did.
I’m still alive but I’m barely breathing
“Noona,” Kibum whispered, “Don’t leave me, please.”
“I’m sorry, Kibum. I just… there’s someone else.” Eunsook replied, with a tinge of guilt in her voice. Tears were rolling down her cheeks, but all she wanted was just like any other girl out there. She wanted happiness. Rushing out of the room filled with memories, Eunsook felt a tug in her right arm. She stopped.
“Let me go, Kibum.” Eunsook uttered. She felt a stronger tug which made her turn around. The next thing she knew, her lips were pressed perfectly against Kibum’s. Oh, how she hated this. She hated the fact that she enjoyed the moment. She hated the fact that she loves the way the taste of his tongue lingers even though she’d made her decision to leave him.
Her teeth parted after much struggle, allowing Kibum’s tongue to explore her mouth. He was too familiar with his way around; way too familiar. Eunsook returned to her senses when Kibum moved his arms from her jaw, to her neck and finally to her lean waist.
“No,” Eunsook pushed Kibum away with both of her arms, forcefully “Stop, Kibum, stop. I’m leaving. Just let me go, please.”
Kibum saw the look in her eyes. The distant feeling she showed made him feel as though his heart was stabbed over and over again. She’s no longer the Eunsook Noona that I know of, it’s time to let go. Kibum freed his grip that was making Eunsook stay. He felt his tears behind his lower lids, but they weren’t falling out. He's holding back his tears, he had to stay strong.
And she left, leaving all the memories she had with Kibum behind.
Her best days will be some of my worst
After she left Kibum, Eunsook felt like a different person altogether. Her heart, it no longer contained the burden she felt all along while she was with Kibum. She felt wrong about the ‘noona-dongsaeng’ relationship she shared with Kibum. It’s not right. It’ll never be right. But she gave it a go nonetheless.
She thought she was in love, she really thought so, until she met a guy. A guy four years older than her. She met him at work one day while Kibum was still in school and couldn’t pick her up on time. “Hey,” he began, and there, the spark ignited.
He began visiting her on a daily basis. She found herself finding more and more excuses to miss her dates with Kibum. She felt bad, but she felt good. Kibum questioned, she never answered.
She found herself, too, liking her ‘outings’ with this guy a little more than she did with Kibum. She felt safe. She could find the sense of security she needed from him while she felt as though she was the one protecting Kibum when they’re together.
She felt like a girl in love once again.
She loved Kibum, but she loved him just a little more.
What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you
(Two years ago)
Kibum held the little bouquet of pink roses in his hands while waiting for her to appear. She’s always out by ten at night and will be waiting for her bus at the deserted bus stop. Kibum couldn’t stop looking at his watch; he really wished this will work out. Finally a familiar silhouette emerged through the darkness. It’s her.
“Hey, Eunsook Noona.” Kibum said as he held the bouquet behind his back, hiding it from Eunsook.
“Oh hey, Kibum. It’s late, you should be home, right?” Eunsook replied, ever so naturally. Kibum smiled while his cheeks blushed pink.
“I uh, Noona. I have something for you.” Kibum stuttered. He presented the bouquet to her and proceeded to give her a hug. She didn’t reject.
“I love you, Eunsook Noona.” He whispered into Eunsook’s ears.
“I-I don’t know about this, Kibum. I’m I don’t know, it’s not right, is it? I like you too, Kibum. I really do. But-” It was Eunsook’s turn to stutter this time.
Kibum failed.
He didn’t turn up for the next three days. He was afraid she’d get scared of him.
The fourth day he went back, he saw her, again. Mustering his courage, Kibum walked towards Eunsook.
“Hey, Noona,” he said while he looked into her deep brown orbs, “You know, I know you’re not ready. But I thought you should know that I’ll never give up. I always get what I wanted since young and this time round, there’s no exception,” he smirked.
“Well, it’s sad; I didn’t know that I was no different from others. My bus is here. See you again.” Eunsook replied wittily as she smiled. Kibum was mesmerized by this witty yet charming lady. She’s definitely mine, he thought to himself.
Kibum went back every night without fail for the next two weeks. Every night he had a little surprise planned for Eunsook. There was once where he bought a huge bunch of heart-shaped balloons, inflated with helium, and released it when Eunsook walked out of the building where she works. The little childish actions made her happy, really happy. But she didn’t show it, of course.
In the end, he succeeded.
They were in love. Deeply, truly and madly in love with each other.
I'm falling to pieces
Kibum knelt down onto the ground, crying, after she departed. He loved her, he really did. The moments they shared were the best part of Kibum’s life and no one could ever replace Eunsook in his heart.
Eunsook was the only woman who could read Kibum like a book, inside out. Eunsook was the only one who could work her way around Kibum and not get Kibum sick of her tactics. Eunsook was the only one who could place her lips against Kibum’s and always leaving him begging for more. Eunsook, only Eunsook.
Living his days with agony for the past few months, Kibum realized that he really couldn’t take the blow; he really didn’t want all of these to end. Every scar marked on his left wrist represented his love for her. Some things were not right anymore.
Taking his cell phone out from his pocket, he made a call. He’s leaving Korea, for good. He decided that he should start afresh, without Eunsook.
He informed everyone around him about his sudden decision to leave.
Everyone knew.
Everyone, other than Eunsook.
Cos when a heart breaks no, it don’t break even
