A/N: Hello! I haven't post something in a while. So here you go. This is a songfic based on my foreverlove Anberlin's Paperthin Hymn and its music video. Please comment! I really want to know what you think!
Kibum was lying motionless on the hospital bed. The smell of medicine and sanitizer were so strong it was sickening. Kibum couldn’t remember how he got there. All he knew was the weakening pain in his body. But that left when a certain person opened the door and walked in.
That person was Lee Jinki. He was Kibum’s best friend, boyfriend, lover, and world. He had the best smile; The kind of smile that would, quite literally, brighten the room. His eyes were beautiful. Those calm eyes that were always filled with love whenever he looks at Kibum.
Jinki took his hand and carefully kissed Kibum’s forehead. In a split second, Kibum felt as though everything was alright.
“How are you?” Jinki whispered as he sat on the chair next to Kibum’s bed.
“I’m not dead, so I guess I’m good.” He frowned a little bit and smiled again.
“Hey, you know that it'll be a long time until that happens right?” Kibum only nodded. “I want to spend the day with you Kibum-ah.”
“What do you mean?” Jinki smiled playfully and ran out of the room only to comeback with a wheelchair. “Jinki… can’t we do this another time?” Kibum whined. The older only grabbed his hand and slowly pulled him up.
“No. It has to be today.” Kibum gave in.

Jinki pushed the wheelchair out and headed towards the hospital’s garden. The fresh air filled Kibum’s lung as he took a deep breath. He glanced towards Jinki and saw the older still smiling.
“Yah, why are you so happy?”
“Why shouldn’t I? I get to spend one day with you.” Kibum chuckled, thinking how cheesy Jinki could be. “Kibum, do you want to know how fast I can push you?” Before Kibum could register his words, Jinki started running.
Despite his worries about Jinki falling and get them both injured, he still loved the way his heart beats faster, the way Jinki's laughter echoed in his ears, and how the fresh afternoon wind blew his face. They continued playing and laughing for some time. Kibum was sure now that everything was fine. Everything must be fine.
After they finally calmed down, Jinki sat down on the park bench with Kibum on the wheelchair next to him. His gaze never left the pretty boy’s face. The big smile was still pinned on his face, hands tightly around Kibum’s with their fingers laced together. It was perfect.
“I’ll love you forever, Kibum.” He suddenly said. Kibum didn’t know whether he should feel happy or sad. Because the way Jinki said love, was almost like a goodbye.
“You know I love you too Jinki. A lot more than you know.” Jinki brought his hand to the side of Kibum’s face, slowly stroking his cheek affectionately. The younger unconsciously closed his eyes and leaned closer to the touch. A moment later, he felt the warmth of Jinki’s lips on his.
If there were one thing that Kibum would never get tired of, it would be Jinki’s kisses. His kiss was always so gentle, so sincere, filled with love.
“Thank you for always making me happy, Kibum. You have to be strong, okay?” Jinki whispered against his lips. Kibum nodded and pulled the other closer. He never wants to lose his warmth. “Promise me, you’ll always remember that no matter what happens, I will always love you. I’ll be with you forever.”
This time Kibum didn’t have the chance to answer. He opened his eyes only to be greeted with the bright white lights above him.

He blinked rapidly trying to make sense of his surrounding. His mind couldn’t register the fact that he could move from the garden to his room in such a quick second. He couldn’t even remember that Jinki brought him back to his room. Did he fall asleep?
He tilted his head to the side and saw Jonghyun, Minho, and Taemin staring anxiously at him. Where is Jinki? Wasn’t he here a moment ago?
“Hyung, are you awake?” Taemin quietly asked,
“Uh, yeah. What happened? Where’s Jinki?” The other three exchanged glanced and Jonghyun took his hand. Kibum flinched. He didn’t like the way Jonghyun held his hand. It was different. It was apologetic.
“You… you were in a car accident with Jinki Hyung,” Kibum’s heart started to beat faster and his head started spinning in the most uncomfortable way.
“Where is he then?” Now, Kibum could see the tears in his friends’ eyes and their tired faces. He didn’t want to hear it.
“He didn’t make it.” Kibum felt as though his heart double in weight and how his vision started to blur due to the unintentional tears that were welling up. He wanted to scream. He wanted to do something else rather than just lied helplessly on a hospital bed. He wanted to see Jinki.
“I thought he said forever,” Was the only sentence he managed to let out. Before he drifted back to sleep, he swore he heard Jinki’s voice apologizing.
