Mystics and psychics, healers and gurus, ancient spirits and pseudoscientists... but altogether: caregivers and wellwishers. It is so hard to judge the beliefs of such people, those whose beliefs have benefitted their own lives so much and push on to spread their so-called enlightenment to others in hopes it'll serve to their benefits. I'm not sure if you were aware or not, but when I was in school in New York my intended major was religious studies, mainly for two reasons. Number one: I enjoy the sociology of religion. It has played such a big part in the shaping of modern life, something that I think many people overlook. Number two: Faith fascinates me; I can't comprehend how someone is able to decide they have *the truth*, that they know life's meaning. There is so much more I could say about that (as you did in your entry) but I do not have the energy. I think I'll try to write a post about it, it's a very engaging subject.
