Ficlet - The Red Book

I know it's been forever since I last posted, I've started a new job, working at a small museum, organising the collections and helping with exhibitions - I haven't worked since having the kids and it feels very exciting! Here's a short LOTR fic I wrote a while ago and have been meaning to post for a while. I hope you like it!

I'm here via semyaza's recommendation.
What a rich and hauntingly beautiful story that shows us the Red Book through Elanor's eyes.

She thinks of it sometimes, lying there beneath its shroud of red velvet, in the western tower that overlooks the sea. Even at night, if she concentrates hard enough, she fancies she can sense the pulsing of the words beneath the leather and soft muffling cloth. Their urgent whispers sound above the wailing wind, keeping her awake in the thick dark of a winter’s night.

The opening lines grabbed me and didn't let go until the end. And her vision of Frodo...Marvelous.
You're a talented story-teller. Thank-you.
