I honestly don't know if I feel more for Rhys, begging for normalcy I'll bet money he doesn't think he can have, or Gwen, for being married to someone who loves her, but wants part of her to not be there.

Probably Gwen, I suppose, but I hurt for Rhys, too.

It's probably obvious from this fic that my sympathies lie primarily with Gwen. If I think about it, I can make myself understand where Rhys is coming from: Torchwood is deadly, and he doesn't want Gwen or their daughter to die, and it's not like Gwen has communicated about Torchwood very effectively in the past. But I also think his feelings are petty in a way because he thinks of Torchwood as a rival he can't effectively compete with. That's when I start thinking, "Thou shalt not restrain the career goals of thy wife," and the world goes kind of red with rage. I was a little frustrated with his characterization in the new episode though; it seems as if they erased all his character development because it was convenient to do so. Of course, I did the same since it worked for my story...

Yes, mine too. I do love Rhys, but I couldn't really get behind his behavior in Miracle Day. Glad you liked the story though!
