The Trias have Landed

They finally came!! All frustration with UPS melted the second I had the box in my hand... and it was a GIGANTIC box, mind you; like 17.5 lbs huge. Bob was making fun of me because I had this huge grin on my face and was squeeling as I opened up the package and then each individual marker box (it's 144 markers total, divided by color sets into ( Read more... )

Normally, a 144 set like this would cost somewhere around $850.00. However, I found a site online that has them at a significant discount; I got 'em for $399.99 with shipping to Philadelphia being $49.99. Individual markers cost around $5 retail; there may be places that sell 'em cheaper, but since they are brand new most places don't have the single markers on any kind of sale yet (or at least not that I've noticed).

Here's the shop I got mine at: http://www.jerrysartarama.com/art-supply-stores/online/6251 I did a lot of searching and it was the cheapest price I could find for them.

if you lived around these parts you might have gotten them even cheaper without shipping: the dick blick over here's not (re)stocking trias anymore for some reason so they're all going on sale like crazy. there's stacks of tria sets on clearance right now and the individual markers are down to $2. if i used markers it'd be a sweet deal.

i got a set of my new favorite colored pencil on clearance which i was uber excited about. but the people said it was probably because they were no longer going to carry them in that store. :(

thats how much the old trias cost here when they first announced the redesign. Unfortunatly my pearl, the only store I have access to that sold 'em, ran out of the old stock months ago. When they still had them I was completely broke so I couldn't even take advantage of the sale :(
