If I recall correctly, his son was killed, which was what I expected to happen here as a tragic element to both Gordon and Batman, i.e. Even Batman can't always save the day and it would put the strain on their relationship that always pops up in the comics ( ... )

Agreed on the Joker. I love the way he was portrayed in this. I actually compared it to the Joker from the Arkum Asylum story; Ledger was fantastic in his portrayal... just as Jack Nicholson was excellent as *his* version of the Joker.

The Batman Voice got really irritating about half way into the movie. I hope they alter that if they do a third.

The Harvey Dent fall was a little sudden, but I have a feeling that some filler stuff was cut to fit the movie and when the DVD is released we'll have the fall a little more rounded out. But the guy who posted first was right... Chris Nolan did in one movie what Lucas tried to do in three.

Maggie G. I thought did much better then Katie Holmes... but I felt bad that her part was relatively small. Again, hoping for some filler that was left out for time.

I was bracing myself for a huge let-down early on based on the massive internet buzz before the movie even came out...but for once it was actually true. I'd always enjoyed Ledgers peformances though, particularly in A Knights Tale.

Rumors are already flying that the next villain could be The Riddler with Johnny Depp as the dream actor for the role. I already laugh at how many people probably wet their pants just thinking about it.

I really hope Ledger gets a Posthumous Oscar for this--because he REALLY deserves it...

Dear sweet Jeebus it was so ungodly awesome was it not? Heath Leger was f*cking phenomenal. The new director has definitely breathed new life into a franchise that had grown, let's face it, pretty campy.
