Tea Party

I am in the process of planning a tea party for this Saturday evening at our house. I invited a bunch of ladies (some from our small group at church, some from MOPS), and most of them are coming. Looks so far that it's going to be 8 of us.

For the menu I am planning a bunch of different bite-sized tea sandwiches and some sweets. It's not going to be ( Read more... )

I think it all sounds lovely (and is making me hungry). My one suggestion would be to make the cupcakes and brownies "mini" so that they're single or two bite bits.

Have fun! I can't wait to see the pictures. Are you all going to wear hats? :D

Yes, I was planning to make cupcakes in the mini-muffin tin that I have. Hopefully I'll be able to frost them gracefully enough with them being so tiny :)

And no, we aren't wearing hats :) it's not a formal kind of gathering, more like Moms' night out :)

Ohh...I know! Do you guys have strawberries yet? Chocolated dipped strawberries with white chocolate drizzle...mmmmmmmm...and it's a light choice for those who eat too many chicken salad sandwiches. :D

Thanks for the idea! I'll see tomorrow if I can find some good ones. This time of year the only ones we get are from CA :) And I LOVE strawberries :)

I think that your selection has PLENTY of variety (sounds like the most magnificent tea party I've heard of!)! If you are wanting another sweet thing, you could make one or two kinds of truffles (I still plan on emailing you the recipes). They are kind of time consuming, but can be done in advance. And I've found a few tricks that make them not take so long also, which obviously I will pass on. :) But if you are worried about time, the sweet treats you have planned look absolutely marvelous!

thank you Diana. I posted some pictures today here on the blog from the tea party, so check them out, if you'd like :)

Also, I still would like your truffle recipe :)
