an email to a younger friend of mine, sent yesterday

this is strange, but i sent this email yesterday and i guess it just sums up how i really feel about the show closing.

"Dear Becca,
i'm sorry you didnt get to see Chicago-- besides being one of my favorite theatre experiences, it was probably the best show ive ever been in (the only comparable one being The Fantasticks, and im biased because i loved doing that show)

the cast was almost half seniors. seniors who have not only performed together for four years, but some of whom have been life long friends, and half of whom get to go to performing conservatories next year (NYU Tish, University of the Arts, two at UCLA theatre, Point Park, one with a full ride at Berkeley School of Music, U of A at Tuscon for theatre, Boston Conservatory and i missed one).

performing that last show was the most bizarre experience of my life; to know it was my last high school show, that im going 3000 miles away in a few months and may never see some of the people i say "i love you," to everyday.

it hurts when you're losing seniors, but as a senior i feel like im losing myself. and that's the scariest thing ive ever come up against.
love, sofia"

other news: i have a lot of reading to do yet.
but im almost finished with my second crochet'd quilt. yesss
